Job Title: Baker / Pastry Chef

Location: Lekki, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities
Baking and Production:

• Prepare and bake a range of products including bread, pastries, cakes, cookies, and other baked goods according to standardized recipes.
• Mix, knead, and shape dough; monitor baking times and temperatures to ensure optimal results.
• Decorate and finish products as required, ensuring high standards of presentation.

Recipe Development and Improvement:

• Develop and test new recipes, improving existing ones based on feedback and market trends.
• Experiment with new ingredients and techniques to enhance product offerings.

Quality Control:

• Ensure that all baked goods meet company quality standards for taste, texture, and appearance.
• Conduct regular taste tests and inspections to maintain product consistency.

Inventory Management:

• Monitor and manage inventory of baking ingredients and supplies, ensuring proper storage and handling.
• Order ingredients and materials as needed, keeping track of stock levels and reducing waste.

Sanitation and Safety:

• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, following health and safety regulations.
• Adhere to food safety standards, including proper handling, storage, and sanitation procedures.

Customer Service:

• Interact with customers to understand their preferences and provide recommendations based on their needs.
• Address and resolve any customer issues or complaints related to baked products.

Collaboration and Teamwork:

• Work closely with other kitchen staff to coordinate production and meet demand.
• Communicate effectively with management and team members to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Baker or in a similar role.
• In-depth knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and equipment.
• Ability to follow recipes accurately and maintain consistency in product quality.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
