Job Summary

• The Printing Press Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of Prints4Humanity, ensuring the efficient and effective production of high-quality printed materials. This role involves managing staff, coordinating production schedules, maintaining equipment, and ensuring that all printing processes meet the company’s quality standards and deadlines.

Key Responsibilities
Operations Management:

• Oversee the entire printing process from pre-press to post-press operations.
• Coordinate and manage production schedules to meet client deadlines.
• Ensure the optimal use of resources, including manpower, materials, and machinery.
• Monitor production processes to ensure quality standards are met.

Team Leadership:

• Supervise and manage a team of printing technicians, operators, and support staff.
• Provide training and development to enhance team members' skills and knowledge.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to staff.
• Foster a positive and productive work environment.

Quality Control:

• Implement and maintain quality control processes to ensure high standards of printing.
• Review and approve final proofs before printing.
• Identify and address any issues that may affect the quality of the printed products.

Equipment Maintenance:

• Ensure that all printing equipment is properly maintained and in good working order.
• Coordinate with maintenance staff or external vendors for repairs and servicing of equipment.
• Keep up-to-date with new printing technologies and recommend upgrades or replacements as needed.

Cost Management:

• Manage the printing budget, including the cost of materials, labor, and maintenance.
• Implement cost-saving measures without compromising on quality.
• Monitor inventory levels of printing materials and reorder as necessary.

Client Relations:

• Work closely with clients to understand their printing needs and expectations.
• Provide technical advice and solutions to clients regarding printing options and processes.
• Ensure customer satisfaction by delivering high-quality products on time.

Compliance and Safety:

• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
• Implement and enforce safety protocols within the printing press.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Printing Technology, Graphic Arts, Industrial Management, or a related field.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in printing press management or a similar role.
• In-depth knowledge of printing processes, machinery, and materials.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Proficiency in using printing software and technology.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with digital printing technology.
• Knowledge of color management and pre-press operations.
• Familiarity with print finishing techniques.

Working Conditions:

• This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced and sometimes physically demanding environment.
• May require standing for extended periods and lifting heavy materials.
