Job Title: Senior Design Engineer

Job Description

• The Senior Design Engineer is responsible for leading and overseeing the design and development of construction projects, ensuring that they meet technical specifications, quality standards, and project timelines.
• This role requires a combination of technical expertise, strong leadership skills, and a deep understanding of the construction industry.
• The successful candidate will play a critical role in the success of the company's projects.

Key Responsibilities
Project Management:

• Lead and manage design teams, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
• Develop and implement project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
• Monitor project progress and identify potential risks or issues.
• Coordinate with other project stakeholders, including architects, contractors, and subcontractors.

Design Development:

• Oversee the development of detailed design drawings, specifications, and calculations.
• Ensure that designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
• Review and approve design changes and modifications.
• Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers.

Technical Expertise:

• Possess a deep understanding of construction engineering principles, materials, and methods.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies.
• Provide technical advice and support to project teams.

Quality Assurance:

• Implement quality control measures to ensure that projects meet the highest standards of quality.
• Conduct inspections and audits to identify and address any quality issues.
• Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives.

Risk Management:

• Identify and assess potential risks associated with construction projects.
• Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
• Manage and resolve any issues that arise during the project lifecycle.

Client Relations:

• Represent the company to clients and external stakeholders.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with clients.
• Address client concerns and ensure their satisfaction.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Professional engineering license (PE) preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in a design engineering role within the construction industry.
• Strong leadership and management skills.
• Excellent technical expertise in construction engineering.
• Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D).
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Additional Skills:

• Experience with project management methodologies (e.g., PMBOK).
• Knowledge of construction contracts and legal requirements.
• Experience with sustainable design and green building practices.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Salary
N800,000 - N1,000,000 Monthly.
