Job Title: Investment Research Analyst

Location: Ikoyi, Lagos

Summary

• The Investment Research Analyst will be instrumental in driving informed investment decisions by conducting thorough research, analyzing market trends, and providing data-driven insights.
• This role involves evaluating financial information, assessing investment opportunities, and supporting the development of strategic investment plans.
• The ideal candidate should have a strong background in financial analysis, with a proven track record in investment research, particularly within the asset management or pension fund industry.

Responsibilities
Portfolio Management Support:

• Collaborate with portfolio managers to develop and refine investment strategies, ensuring alignment with overall fund objectives.
• Provide ongoing support in the management of investment portfolios, including monitoring performance, rebalancing, and asset allocation.
• Assist in the preparation of investment committee materials and participate in strategy discussions.

Market and Investment Research:

• Conduct in-depth research and analysis of financial markets, including equities, fixed income, and alternative investments.
• Monitor global economic trends, market developments, and industry-specific news to identify potential investment opportunities.
• Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis to evaluate the performance and risks of various investment portfolios.

Investment Strategy Development:

• Assist in the development and refinement of investment strategies based on research findings and market insights.
• Provide recommendations on asset allocation, sector exposure, and security selection to optimize portfolio performance.
• Stay informed about emerging investment trends and innovative financial instruments to contribute to forward-looking investment strategies.

Financial Modeling and Analysis:

• Build and maintain complex financial models to forecast performance and value investment opportunities.
• Analyze financial statements, valuation metrics, and company fundamentals to support investment decisions.
• Utilize advanced analytical tools and software to conduct scenario analysis and stress testing of portfolios.

Reporting and Documentation:

• Prepare detailed research reports, investment memos, and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to senior management and clients.
• Regularly update investment performance reports, highlighting key drivers, risks, and opportunities.
• Ensure all research and analysis is well-documented and complies with internal and regulatory standards.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:

• Work closely with portfolio managers, traders, and other analysts to support investment decision-making and portfolio management activities.
• Engage with external analysts, industry experts, and company management teams to gather insights and validate research conclusions.
• Collaborate with compliance and risk management teams to ensure that investment recommendations align with regulatory requirements and risk tolerance levels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Investment, Economics, or a related field (Master's degree or professionalqualification is a plus).
• Proven track record of at least three(3) years in Equity Research Analysis, Financial Modelling, Market Intelligence Gathering, etcwithin the financial services industry, preferably in Asset management, Investment banking or pension funds, or investment advisory.
• Exceptionalproblem-solving, and analytical abilities.
• Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-pacedenvironment.
