Pro-Wellness Humanitarian Initiative (PROWI) is a women led non-governmental humanitarian/developmental organization founded in 2016, registered with corporate affairs commission, in accordance with the Nigeria Law, PROWI was established to impact the lives of vulnerable individuals in African communities, affected by crises or natural disasters, with special focus on women, children, and other marginalized groups, enabling them to survive, recover, and regain control over their lives and future, through our interventions in thematic areas of Health, Protection, Nutrition, Education, WASH, Peace building, Early recovery and Livelihood. Over the years, PROWI has reached more than 12,000 children, men, women and girls through its interventions.PROWI work with the Mission to create a positive transformation and empowering communities through a comprehensive, holistic approach that encompasses health, well-being, and social justice.
The Education Officer will be responsible for the day to day implementation of Education activities in respective LGA.
The Education Officer provides both operations and technical assistance relating to Education in Emergencies project.
The job holder provides coordination and engagement with relevant Education stakeholders.

Reports to the Program Manager.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Support excellent coaches to deliver quality learning to targeted beneficiaries
Provide support on youth/adolescent programming, including, life skills, catch-up classes, basic literacy/numeracy, and alternative/accelerated education
Support advocacy initiative with government agencies and relevant stakeholders.
Support identification of needs, and development and facilitation of training programs for volunteers’ teachers,
With support from M&E team design a Monitoring plan and simple data collection tools to ensure monitoring and data collection of key project indicators
The post holder will directly implement the project and also document lessons learnt, support assessments and monitoring and evaluation of the Education in Emergencies components of PROWI’s emergency response. He/she is responsible for assessment, response analysis, design, capacity building.
The post holder will also contribute towards the capacity building of partners, and community structure to ensure quality implementation of the integrated education project in the targeted communities.
Will be responsible for school supervision, and data collection
Will support in organizing and facilitating teacher trainings and assessments
Support assessment of Education sector in the state of implementation
Review, assess and update the education situation in areas affected by emergency
In collaboration with national and international Education actors, map current institutional response
Qualifications / Core Requirements
University Degree or equivalent in Education, Social Science, Social Work, Psychology, or related fields
Good knowledge and understanding of DO NO HARM principles and established international child protection standards (especially UNCRC).
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years relevant working experience Education in Emergencies
Experience working in emergency settings
Experience with participatory approaches to education, emergency preparedness, crisis/emergency relief management, or other related area.
Skills and Competencies:
Strong ability to work independently, organize work, meet deadlines, maintain composure, prioritize work under pressure, coordinate multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail
Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, creativity and flexibility
Works well in and promotes teamwork, comfortable in a multi-cultural environment, flexible and able to handle pressure well.
Ability to read and write in both English and others languages appropriately in Northeast Nigeria
Skills in training and management
Proficiency in the use of computers (MS Word, Excel, Power Point Presentation).
Should be multitasking and can work with little or no supervision.
Analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
Ability to meet deadlines
Ability to work as part of a team and to provide quality and timely support and services.
Professionalism and flexible attitude to work
Ability to work under pressure and flexibility to adjust work schedules and priorities.
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of the development and humanitarian sector.
Ability to speak English fluently, Hausa and other local languages desirable.
Familiarity with project management and reporting requirements of major donors.
Excellent English written, verbal communication and report writing skills
Ability to work in a multicultural environment and adapt to diverse contexts.
Organizational Requirements:
The post holder will, at all times, carry out his/her responsibilities with the utmost respect for the protection of children by the PROWI’s Child and Vulnerable Person/persons Safeguarding Policy.
The post holder will be required to respect ethnic and racial differences during and after work hours.
The post holder will report to the PROGRAM MANAGER
