Job Description
As a Lab Analyst (Analytical), you will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity of raw materials, packaging materials, and finished goods through meticulous testing and quality control.
You will be responsible for overseeing the testing process, analyzing results, and ensuring that the production process adheres to industry standards and regulations.
Your expertise in SAP and attention to detail will help maintain operational efficiency, product quality, and compliance across the board.
Responsibilities
Raw Material & Packaging Material Testing:
Prepare and send samples, including internal water samples, to external labs for testing.
Inspect, test, and validate raw materials and packaging against predefined specifications.
Capture and manage test results in SAP, releasing approved materials for production.
Follow up on missing or incorrect Certificates of Analysis (COA) and Certificates of Conformance (COC) for both raw materials and packaging.
Ensure defective materials are flagged, labeled, and reported for further action, including issuing NCR (Non-Conformance Reports).
Maintain and manage raw material standards and retention samples for future reference.
Bulk & Finished Goods (FG) Testing:
Allocate batch/lot numbers and record bulk samples for quality tracking.
Conduct bulk inspections and tests to ensure conformity with bulk specifications.
Report any non-conforming results to R&D and QA for necessary adjustments.
Manage bulk standards, retention samples, and bulk test records for audit and compliance purposes.
Release bulk and finished goods in SAP, ensuring accurate documentation and storage.
Maintenance of Equipment & Reagents:
Keep laboratory equipment in optimal working condition, ensuring cleanliness and functionality.
Calibrate and verify lab equipment regularly as per standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Manage reagents, including preparation and storage, and coordinate with external labs for standardization.
Quality Control (QC) Documentation & Samples Management:
Maintain QC documentation, including RM, PM, and batch files, in accordance with written procedures.
Retain standard samples for raw materials and bulk batches for up to one year, ensuring proper storage and labeling.
Ensure accuracy and availability of retention samples for future audits or investigations.
Requirements
Education: B.Sc. or B.Tech in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in a similar manufacturing company, preferably within the FMCG industry.
Strong working knowledge of SAP, quality control procedures, and testing standards.
Experience with analytical techniques and lab equipment maintenance.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
