Background
The Nigeria TBHIV Reach Integration & Impact Project (N-THRIP) is designed to ensure a coordinated and intensive effort to scale up the prevention, identification, and treatment of HIV in both general and key populations in Anambra state.
The focus will be on facility and community-based approaches to reach epidemic control, and in addition, ensure improvement in the coverage of pregnant women on ART as well as target KP and AGYW programs.
Hence, the consultant will be responsible for ensuring the quality of high-frequency reports and working with facility backstops to correct data quality issues in a timely fashion.
S/He will work with the SI team to conduct routine DQA activities across facilities and share gap analysis to inform decision-making
Key Roles
The services of the consultant will include but not limited to the following:
Facilitate the review, cleaning, and validation data to ensure correctness, completeness, and consistency across all data sources.
Provide technical support and directions on data management challenges.
Perform audits and data quality assessments (DQAs) to recognize and rectify inconsistencies or gaps in data.
Provide support to the M&E team to ensure data collection tools and other methodologies correspond with program objectives and data quality standards.
Report and document data quality challenges, resolutions, and best practices for continuous improvement.
Work with relevant staff to coordinate the implementation of facility-based programs.
Ensure capacity-building activities to transfer skills, knowledge, and technology to the Government of Nigeria staff and stakeholders at the individual, facility, and levels to lead the HIV response and create effective linkages between facility and community services.
With guidance from the Cluster Lead, represent AHNI in meetings, discussions, and relevant forums on issues related to HIV/TB prevention, treatment, and care.
Recruitments
A Degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Data Science, or a related field with 2 to 3 years post NYSC experience in data management preferably in the health sector or HIV programming.
Possession of a post graduate degree in a related field is an added advantage.
Experience in data analysis software (e.g., Excel, SPSS, STATA, R) and conversant with health information system.
Able to rectify data-related issues and proffer practical solutions.
Excellent ability to communicate and maintain productive relations with the team; resourcefulness, flexibility, and ability to work in a fast changing and challenging environment.
Ability to use key computing applications e g MS Office Suite etc and knowledge of different databases (DHIS or NMRS) is a plus.
