The Project Management Specialist (Environment) has the following duties:

Immediate Supervisor is U.S. Direct Hire (USDH) Peace and Democratic Governance Office Director or his/her designee, who outlines duties and responsibilities in terms of Mission policies and objectives.

Skills and Abilities:
Ability to plan, organize, manage, monitor and evaluate large donor funded activities. S/he must have expert skills and abilities to manipulate and analyze data sets; to adapt to continuously changing guidelines and requirement from USAID; and to work under pressure with tight deadlines S/he must demonstrate ability in the design monitoring and evaluation methods to produce, analyze, use and share information with a variety of actors in different environments is required.
S/he must have strong verbal, writing, and diplomatic skills in order to form good working relations with implementing partner’s staff, high level nation and state government officials, other development partners and external stakeholders.
Expert writing skills to prepare and edit technical and ad-hoc reports that clearly translate highly complex programmatic information into actionable information, in keeping with Agency standards, are required.
S/he must have advanced ability to use IT software specific to governance or social development programs and statistics; and must be expert in Microsoft Excel as well as proficient in PowerPoint, Word and email platforms or their Google equivalents.
Demonstrated skills using and interpreting statistical software such as SPSS Statistical Software and/or STATA Statistical software is an advantage.
S/he must have strong capacity to manage activity goals and achievements, both technical and financial; must have skills in project programming and strategy development; and must be able to work effectively in a team environment to achieve consensus on policy, project and administrative matters.
S/he must have the ability to acquire knowledge of and understand USAID programming policies, procedures, regulations and documentation, and of the objectives and methodology of assigned activities.

Finalists will be invited for in-person interviews during the selection process. No response will be sent to unsuccessful offerors. USAID/Nigeria reserves the right to conduct interviews with the most highly ranked offerors and make the interview a deciding factor in selection.
