Job Summary
The Business Development Manager (Media House) is responsible for overseeing the media sales team, driving advertising revenue, building strong relationships with clients.
This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of the media industry and a proven ability to meet and exceed sales targets.
The manager will work closely with clients to provide tailored media solutions that meet their advertising needs while managing and motivating the sales team to achieve the company’s revenue goals.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Strategy & Planning:
Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue targets across various media platforms, including TV, radio, print, digital, and social media.
Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify new business opportunities and optimize sales strategies.
Work with senior management to set sales targets, budgets, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for the sales team.
Client Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, advertising agencies, and media buyers to ensure repeat business and long-term partnerships.
Conduct regular client meetings to present media solutions, discuss campaign performance, and address any issues or concerns.
Negotiate contracts, pricing, and media packages to ensure mutually beneficial agreements.
Team Leadership & Development:
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of sales professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to help them achieve their sales goals.
Foster a positive and collaborative team culture focused on achieving results and delivering exceptional customer service.
Conduct regular sales meetings, set performance targets, and monitor team progress towards achieving goals.
Revenue Growth & Sales Performance:
Drive revenue growth by identifying and pursuing new sales opportunities and upselling to existing clients.
Monitor sales performance and ensure that all sales activities are aligned with the company’s overall business objectives.
Prepare regular sales reports for senior management, providing insights into sales performance, market trends, and potential areas for growth.
Media Campaign Management:
Work with clients and the creative team to develop and execute media campaigns that align with clients’ marketing objectives.
Oversee the delivery and performance of media campaigns, ensuring that they meet or exceed client expectations.
Monitor campaign metrics and provide clients with detailed reports on campaign performance and return on investment (ROI).
Collaboration & Cross-Functional Coordination:
Collaborate with other departments such as marketing, content, and production to ensure seamless campaign execution and delivery.
Work closely with the finance team to manage client billing, contracts, and invoicing.
Market Research & Competitor Analysis:
Stay updated on industry trends, new media platforms, and emerging advertising technologies.
Conduct regular competitor analysis to identify opportunities for differentiation and competitive advantage.
Job Qualifications
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
2 years of experience in media sales
Relevant certifications in media sales, digital marketing, or advertising are a plus
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and managing successful media campaign
Strong understanding of media platforms (TV, radio, print, digital) and advertising trends.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Must be able to drive with a valid drivers license.
