Job Titles: School Teacher and Principal

Location: Abia

Key Responsibilities
Class Teacher:

• Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons in line with the national curriculum.
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and success.
• Assess and monitor students' progress, providing feedback and support to ensure academic growth.
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and carers to support students' overall development.
• Participate in staff meetings, training, and development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice.

School Principal:

• Provide strategic leadership and vision to the school community.
• Oversee the implementation of the curriculum and ensure high standards of teaching and learning.
• Manage and develop school staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
• Promote a safe and inclusive school culture that supports the well-being and development of all students.
• Develop and maintain effective communication with parents, students, staff, and community stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Oversee budgeting, resource allocation, and financial management of the school.
• Lead initiatives for school improvement and innovation.

Requirements
Educational Qualifications & Experience:
For role of principal:

• A minimum of M.Ed or M.Sc & PGDE from a reputable institution (for school principal)
• Proven experience in senior leadership role for at least 10 years in a reputable international school

For the role of class teacher:

• A minimum of B.ED or B.Sc
• Experience in teaching

Skills:

• Exceptionally strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Must have strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate internally/externally to work within professional boundaries.
• I.T. savvy
• Must be able to plan and organise work in a fast-paced environment where exceptional level of service is required to be maintained whilst managing multiple tasks, handling interruptions, and prioritising effectively to meet deadlines.
• Must be professionally presented, self-confident, and smartly dressed at all times.
• Be flexible, adaptable, and be open to change to meet the evolving needs of the school
• Ability to work accurately with a high degree of attention to detail.
• Methodical and well-organised
• Problem solving and dispute resolution skills.
