Job Title: Senior EHS Officer - Environment, Health and Safety Specialist

Job Summary
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior EHS Officer with a specialization in Environment, Health and Safety. This senior-level role will be responsible for overseeing environmental safety programs, managing a team of EHS professionals, and ensuring that our operations comply with environmental regulations and standards.
The successful candidate will demonstrate leadership, strategic vision, and a commitment to fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Supervision and Leadership:
Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of EHS professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure the effective implementation of Environment, Health and Safety programs.
Conduct regular performance reviews, set objectives, and facilitate professional development for team members.
Environmental Safety Management:
Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive environment, health and safety policies and procedures in alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
Conduct advanced environmental risk assessments and audits to identify hazards and ensure effective control measures are in place.
Regulatory Compliance:
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of environmental legislation and industry standards. Ensure that the organization’s practices comply with all relevant regulations.
Prepare and submit detailed compliance reports to regulatory bodies, and manage all related documentation.
Training and Development:
Design and deliver advanced training programs on environment, health and safety topics to enhance employee awareness and competence.
Foster a culture of environmental responsibility through effective communication and engagement strategies.
Incident Management:
Lead investigations into environmental incidents and accidents, determine root causes, and develop corrective and preventive action plans.
Ensure proper documentation and follow-up on all environmental incidents to prevent recurrence.
Strategic Planning and Reporting:
Contribute to the strategic planning of environment, health and safety initiatives and align them with the organization’s goals and objectives.
Prepare and present comprehensive reports on environment, health and safety performance, trends, and improvement initiatives to senior management.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Collaborate with internal departments and external stakeholders to address environment, health and safety concerns and promote best practices.
Act as the primary point of contact for environment, health and safety issues, providing expert advice and support.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
Relevant Professional certification will be an advantage
Minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental safety, with a significant portion in a supervisory or managerial role.
Extensive knowledge of Federal and State environmental regulations and standards
Proven leadership skills with experience in managing and developing a team.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with environmental management software.
Work Environment:
This position may require occasional travel to various sites or facilities.
The role may involve working in different environmental conditions, including outdoor sites.
