We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Senior Account and Finance Officer (Internal)
The Senior Account and Finance Officer is responsible for overseeing the financial management and accounting operations of the GF project.
This role includes managing budgets, preparing financial reports, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and overseeing day-to-day accounting activities.
The officer will work closely with Finance Manager and Director of Finance and Operations to provide financial insights, support strategic decision-making, and ensure the efficient use of resources on the GF CPPM Grant.
Additionally, the role involves supervising the finance team, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and maintaining robust financial controls to safeguard the organization's assets.
Job Description
Collaborate with HR on payroll accounting related matters;
Ensure the monthly payroll payment is processed accurately and on time for all staff;
Responsible for analyzing and ensuring approval of payroll data to determine if additional accruals and/or corrections are necessary.
Prepare account reconciliation of all payroll related balances accounts on a monthly basis.
Control the monthly deduction for pension premiums and social insurances and validate and approve pension and social insurance payments;
Responsible for the optimization of payroll processes & systems.
Analyses developments with respect to the administrative organization, internal control and planning and control cycle;
Draws up general planning and control principles, guidelines and procedures and sees to compliance and effect;
Act as a contact person and conducts internal audits in the regions and follow up findings.
Enters approved budgets into the accounting system.
Provides financial data for donor/partner agreements
Checks, analyzes and files financial reports from subcontractors/sub awardees
Compiles financial progress reports in accordance with administrative guidelines, rules and regulations for submission to donors.
Prepares, monitors and verifies outstanding balances and funding requests.
Checks and assigns codes to all financial documents.
Enters financial documents into the accounting system
Prepare and process payments in the banking system
Ensure that all project incurred expenses are timely paid, documented and filed
Assist in the annual audit process and related activities.
Conducts internal audit visits to the Regional Offices and ensures follow-up on internal audit findings
Supports regional and state offices improve the quality of the financial administration
Assists procurement processes.
Prepare monthly bank reconciliation
Prepare quarterly financial report for the GF project and report to the PR
Maintain the balance sheet specification and reconciliation on Exact Globe
Ensure the prompt payment of CBOs, Spokes, Hub, Linkage Coordinators, Screening Officers Incentives
Ensure the prompt payment of Sputum movement and other consultants in the GF CPPM grants
Post CBOs retirement into the system after review
Prepares financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Support the Preparation of budgets and budget modifications.
Ensures compliance with all Global Fund and KNCV Nigeria financial management and accounting policies and regulations.
Engages in financial and related tasks as required by management.
Assists in developing and updating financial management systems and tool
Ensures adherence to all major financial rules and regulations which are described in the KNCV Finance Manual and other operations manual of Global Fund.
Perform other additional duties as assigned.
Team Management:
Ensure strong and healthy supervision of team members reporting to the Senior Account Officer
Ensures that instructions contained in the Finance manual are implemented properly and the KNCV performance cycle is adhered to.
Is responsible for coordination within the Finance team with the aim of increasing efficiency and effectiveness and improving quality
Plans, coordinates and checks the activities and deadlines of the team
Skills and Qualification
A Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, or any other relevant Degree
Working Knowledge of program management Especially in Global fund and USG Supported projects
Demonstrable experience with accounting and financial reporting.
Experience and knowledge of Nigerian tax laws.
Ability to work independently.
Excellent written and verbal English language skills.
Experience with accounting software packages.
Proficiency in computer programs such as the MS Office package.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a team.
Integrity and transparency are essential for this position.
Capable of working well under pressure.
