Job Description
LEARN to Read will recruit Assessors across the states (Adamawa, Bauchi, and Sokoto) who will be responsible for collecting data for the School Safety Assessment. The School Safety Assessment aims to evaluate the current safety measures, protocols, and practices within the school environment. The goal is to identify areas of strength and opportunities for improvement to ensure a safe and secure learning environment for all students and staff.
Objectives of the Assessment
To collect comprehensive data on the current safety conditions of the school.
To assess the effectiveness of existing safety protocols and measures.
To identify potential safety hazards and risks.
To provide recommendations for enhancing school safety.
Supervisors Role and Responsibilities
The scope of work for supervisors overseeing School Safety Assessment data collection encompasses a variety of responsibilities to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and validity of the data collected.

Preparation and Planning:
Support in the training of Data Collectors by providing leadership during group work and coordinating the assigned team
Development of schedules for data collection, including timelines, school visits, and logistical arrangements.
Coordinate the assigned team during data collection and report accordingly on performance
Monitoring and Supervision:
On-site Supervision: Visit schools to observe the data collection process, ensuring adherence to standardized administration procedures.
Real-time Problem Solving: Address any issues that arise during data collection, such as difficulties in accessing schools, technical problems, or logistical challenges.
Quality Control: Check the accuracy and completeness of data collected on-site. Ensure data collectors are following the correct procedures and protocols.
Data Management and Review:
Data Collection Oversight: Oversee the transfer of data from the field to the central database, ensuring data security and integrity.
Feedback Provision: Provide constructive feedback to data collectors based on observations and data review, facilitating continuous improvement.
Reporting and Documentation:
Progress Reports: Prepare regular reports on the progress of data collection, highlighting achievements, challenges, and recommendations.
Final Report Compilation: Compile a comprehensive final report summarizing the data collection process, including any deviations from the plan and the actions taken to address them.
Ethical Considerations:
Confidentiality: Ensure the confidentiality and privacy of student data throughout the data collection process.

Qualitative Interviews:
Conduct the specified key informant interviews across the LGAs
Deliverables:
Completed survey forms and interview transcripts.
Field supervision report.
Direct Report:
The Supervisors work directly to the state MERLA officers and report to the Chief of Party.
Requirements
Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English and local languages of the respective states.
Access to a smartphone and ability to use it proficiently.
Familiarity with the school system and educational institutions.
Domicile in the sampled LGA.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to lead a team.
Prior experience in data collection or survey administration is required

Others:
The Supervisors will attend training for 5 days and work for a total of 10 days to cover the individuals and sampled schools.
