Job Title: Facility Assistant / Artisan

Job Summary
The Facility Assistant is responsible for supporting the efficient operation and maintenance of the facility.
This role involves performing routine inspections, minor repairs, cleaning tasks, and coordinating with external vendors to ensure the facility remains safe, clean, and well-maintained.
The Facility Assistant will work closely with the Facility Manager to address any issues promptly and help maintain a comfortable and functional environment for all facility users.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Repairs:
Conduct routine inspections of the facility to identify and address maintenance needs.
Perform minor repairs, such as fixing leaks, changing light bulbs, and repairing doors or windows.
Assist in the upkeep of HVAC systems, plumbing, and electrical systems as required.
Report major maintenance issues to the Facility Manager and coordinate with external vendors for repairs.
Cleaning & Housekeeping:
Ensure all common areas, restrooms, and workspaces are clean and well-maintained.
Restock supplies in restrooms and break rooms as needed.
Oversee the waste management process, including the disposal of trash and recycling.
Safety & Security:
Monitor the facility to ensure that safety protocols are followed, including emergency exits, fire extinguishers, and security systems.
Address any safety hazards immediately and report them to the Facility Manager.
Assist in implementing and maintaining security measures, such as access control systems and surveillance.
Inventory & Supplies:
Manage inventory levels of cleaning and maintenance supplies.
Order new supplies as needed and maintain organized storage areas.
Track and document the use of materials and equipment.
Coordination & Communication:
Liaise with external contractors and vendors for specialized maintenance tasks.
Communicate with facility users and staff to address concerns or requests.
Provide support during facility events, including setup and teardown.
Administrative Support:
Maintain records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
Assist the Facility Manager with administrative tasks, such as scheduling maintenance and updating facility logs.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in facility management is a plus.
Proven experience in facility management, maintenance, or a related field.
Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and general repair skills.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Physical ability to perform manual tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Working Conditions:
The role may require working in various indoor and outdoor environments.
Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays, depending on the facility's needs.
The position may involve lifting and moving heavy objects
Salary
N50,000 - N70,000 Monthly.
