Job Description
The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of the logistics and cargo industry, strong leadership skills, and a proven track record of driving growth and profitability.
As the Head of Business, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategic plans, overseeing operations, and ensuring exceptional customer service within the cargo business and other portfolios under purview which include and may not be limited to Finchglow Holdings.
Responsibilities
Strategic Planning: Develop and execute a comprehensive business strategy aligned with the company's overall goals.
Identify market trends, competitive landscape, and growth opportunities to drive business expansion.
Operational Excellence: Oversee day-to-day operations of the cargo business, including logistics, warehousing, and transportation.
Ensure efficient cargo handling, timely deliveries, and adherence to quality standards.
Revenue Generation: Drive revenue growth by developing and implementing sales and marketing strategies.
Cultivate strong relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders to enhance business opportunities.
Financial Management: Manage the budgeting process, monitor financial performance, and implement cost control measures.
Analyze financial reports to make informed decisions that maximize profitability.
Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of managers, supervisors, and staff to achieve business objectives.
Foster a collaborative and results-oriented culture that promotes employee growth and engagement.
Customer Satisfaction: Ensure exceptional customer service by maintaining high levels of responsiveness and addressing customer concerns promptly.
Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated with industry regulations and ensure compliance with safety, security, and legal requirements.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to safeguard business operations.
Innovation and Growth: Promote innovation within the cargo business, exploring new services, technologies, and partnerships.
Reporting and Communication: Provide regular updates to executive leadership on business performance, challenges, and opportunities.
Advise on issues relating to the office where necessary
Perform other role-related duties as given by the Group Managing Director
Qualifications
Minimum of a First Degree in a related field
Professional certifications/memberships are an added advantage
Minimum of 14 -15 years’ relevant experience
Skills:
Ability to maintain and handle sensitive and confidential information
Ability to perform filing practices and procedures
Ability to analyseand solve problems.
Ability to effectively understand and communicate verbally with others.
Ability to organize, set priorities and exercise sound judgementwithin areas of responsibility.
