Job Title: Orphans and Vulnerable Senior Program Associate
Location: Alimosho, Lagos
Grant duration: Subject to availability of funds and exceptional grant performance
Duties and Responsibilities
The OVC Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) Senior Associate will play a key role in overseeing and implementing programs and services for Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) at Lagos state.
The Senior Associate will work closely with the OVC team in the state to develop strategies, monitor progress, and ensure the effective delivery of support and care to OVCs and their families.
He/She will assist in providing technical and programmatic support primarily in the areas of HIV prevention, Community based HIV Care & Support for Vulnerable households affected by AIDS.
The OVC Senior Associate plays a critical role in driving the organization's efforts to provide holistic care and support to Orphans and Vulnerable Children, ensuring that they have the resources and opportunities to thrive and reach their full potential.
He/She is to assist in coordinating with local partners to provide essential services such as education, healthcare, psychosocial support, and economic empowerment to OVCs and the provision of training and capacity building support to community volunteers and caregivers involved in OVC care and support.
The incumbent will also ensure compliance with donor requirements, government regulations, and organizational policies in the implementation of OVC programs.
Qualification and Experience
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, Public Health, International Development, or a related field.
At least 5 years of experience in OVC programming, child welfare, or related field, with a focus on program management and implementation.
Strong understanding of child protection issues, OVC care models, and best practices in supporting vulnerable populations.
Demonstrated leadership and management skills, with the ability to effectively lead a team and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
Proficiency in data analysis, using NOMIS and NDR Lite data base and report writing.
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of donor requirement
