Genesis Cinemas is one of Nigeria’s leading cinema developers and operators of multiplex cinemas in Nigeria. GC is part of the Genesis Group, a Nigerian based conglomerate established in 1991 with its key focus on hospitality and entertainment with diverse interests in Restaurants, Hotels, Industrial Catering, Cinemas, Family Entertainment Centres and Facility Management.
The primary responsibility of the Business Manager is to provide guests visiting the Cinema with a positive initial experience by offering superior individualized service.
The Business Manager is responsible for the effective and efficient day-to-day control of activities in the box office, concession, and auditorium.
In accordance with relevant statutory and company requirements, the role will incorporate a variety of areas including training staff and marketing initiative to ensure optimum profit.
The Business Manager, like many other managers in the leisure industry, is responsible for promoting effective visitor services at the Cinema while ensuring that business objectives are achieved.
Other work activities include achieving audience and sales targets, budgeting, cash handling and stock control.
Develops an understanding of the local market including customers’ expectations.
Complies with health and safety regulations at the Cinema.
Trains, appraise and supervise staff.
Ensures delivery of the best possible Cinema experience by providing an environment that is clean, safe and in good condition.
Answers guests’ questions and concerns.
Upholds Genesis’s business practice standard and follows all established company policies and procedures.
Monitors the Cinema to ensure a comfortable environment and ensures guidelines regarding Cinema usage are complied with.
Ensures a safe and healthy work environment.
Accurately operates the TAPOS computer system.
Works cohesively with all employees of the cinema in maintaining an extreme level of customer service.
Endeavors to support the Cinema staff and solve customer problems and issues wherever possible.
Liaises with local press and website team to promote film premiers and Cinemas schedules.
Host private and/or group screenings for clients, promote art and educational firms; offers a wide variety of films (in close collaboration with the film distribution department of the Cinema) to reach sales target.
Advertises and promotes films (in tandem with the marketing department of the Cinema).
Manages promotions within the Cinema.
Hires out the theatres/auditoria for business training, premieres, or leisure purposes.
Arranges special events, including showing films of a particular genre or theme.
Liaises with film societies and other groups within the industry.
Prepare reports, Statistics, forecasts, and financial accounts (in close collaboration with the accounts department).
Markets the Cinema within a local and/or national arena.
Assists any customers with special needs, ensuring that customers’ needs are addressed and met wherever possible.
Monitors the quality of the movies with regards to picture and sound quality, relaying any problems to the head projectionist/technical manager immediately.
Activates the TAPOS system appropriately ensuring that all options needed for the day are highlighted (the movies, their various times and halls, the ticket prices etc.) and the system is updated with new movies when necessary.
Handles the organization/arrangement of the weekly movie schedule and ensures the digital schedules are uploaded on the Box-Office LED’s before 8:00am on Fridays (since a new movie begins on Fridays).
Schedule movies into the appropriate time slots (leaving sufficient time interval between movies to allow quick cleaning of theatres) and the appropriate capacity theatres with a view to optimizing revenue generated.
Is acutely conscious of the Cinema’s monthly financial target and does everything and anything possible to achieve the financial target.
Ensures that all staff know the targets for the month / year and works towards meeting (or exceeding) the set target.
Organizes duty rosters for all staff.
Carries out any other duties which can reasonably be expected of such a position in the provision of effective service to our customers.
Assist with other functions and perform other duties as instructed by the RBM, Divisional Head, General Manager.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree / HND / MSc with 2-4 years experience.
Candidates with cinemas/hospitality experience will be given high preference
Candidates should be living in close proximity to Lekki and it's environs.
Salary
N200,000 - N250,000 / month.
