Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Land Surveyor to support our construction projects.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate measurements, alignment, and compliance with project specifications.
This position requires a deep understanding of surveying techniques, the ability to collaborate with construction teams, and meticulous attention to detail.
Job Responsibilities
Building Layout and Stakeout: Utilize advanced surveying equipment to accurately stake out building layouts, ensuring all measurements and alignments meet project specifications.
Level Checking: Conduct comprehensive level checks across different construction phases, identifying deviations and recommending necessary adjustments to maintain accuracy.
Gauging and Alignment: Work closely with construction teams to establish accurate gauges for plastering, tiling, block works, and plumbing fitting. Ensure all work aligns with project standards.
Lift Core Walls: Employ precise surveying techniques to align and plumb lift core walls, making real-time adjustments to support optimal construction progress.
Piling and Pile Caps: Execute the setting out of piling and pile caps with meticulous attention to design specifications and structural requirements.
Technical Formwork: Collaborate with the construction team to set out and align technical formwork for high-rise structures, ensuring accuracy in all dimensions.
Curve Buildings and Drainage: Implement advanced surveying methods to set out curve buildings and oversee the precise setting out of long-distance drainages, ensuring correct slope and alignment.
Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and maintain detailed sketches, maps, and legal descriptions of surveys. Verify data and calculations, record survey results, and ensure all documentation is up-to-date and compliant with legal standards.
Client Interaction and Advising: Meet with clients to discuss project requirements, provide expert advice on boundary placement, environmental impact, energy efficiency, and health and safety aspects of construction.
Project Support: Conduct feasibility studies, draft scheme designs, cost analysis documents, timelines, and specifications for works. Assist in recruitment of subcontractors and site engineers, and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Surveying and Geoinformatics
Master’s degree is an added advantage
5 - 7 years’ experience working in construction industry safety Standards.
Proven experience as a Land Surveyor, particularly in high-rise construction projects.
Proficient in using surveying equipment and software.
Strong knowledge of construction processes, legal regulations, and documentation standards.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
Attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy and precision.
Salary
N200,000 - N300,000 monthly gross, based on experience.
