Job Title: Procurement Officer

Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible forsourcing quality products and materials at competitive prices, maintaining optimal inventory levels, ensuring timely delivery, and fostering strong relationships with suppliers.
The Procurement Officer will work closely with the operations, finance, store, and kitchen teams to support the smooth functioning of restaurant operations, and the company while adhering to budgetary constraints and maintaining high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Supplier Management:
Assist in identifying and evaluate potential suppliers based on quality, cost, reliability, and service.
Conduct supplier audits and performance reviews to ensure adherence to contractual agreements and industry standards.
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure continuous supply and negotiate favorable terms.
Assist in handling negotiations to achieve the best pricing and service terms without compromising quality.
Purchasing and Inventory Control:
Place orders for products and materials needed for daily operations, ensuring all purchases align with the company's quality standards and budget.
Track and manage purchase orders from creation to delivery, ensuring timely receipt of goods.
Monitor inventory levels to prevent overstocking or stockouts, using data-driven techniques to forecast demand.
Implement inventory control systems and conduct regular stock audits to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
Strategic Sourcing:
Explore and develop relationships with a diverse range of suppliers, including local and sustainable sources.
Ensure a robust supplier base that can support the company’s strategic objectives and growth plans.
Stay informed of new products, materials, and innovations in the food industry that could benefit the business.
Propose and implement sourcing strategies that align with the company’s goals for sustainability and efficiency.
Reporting and Analysis:
Maintain accurate records of all procurement activities, including purchase orders, supplier contracts, and inventory levels.
Prepare regular reports on procurement performance, supplier performance, and cost savings to senior management.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to procurement, such as cost savings, delivery times, and supplier quality, and take corrective actions as needed.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
Work closely with the kitchen, operations, and finance teams to understand their needs and provide support through efficient procurement.
Participate in cross-functional meetings to align procurement strategies with overall business objectives.
Qualifications / Experience
A Bachelor’s Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
1 - 3 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, administration or related fields.
Familiarity with procurement processes, inventory management, or vendor relations is advantageous.
Basic knowledge of procurement software or tools is a plus.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (particularly MS Excel).
