Job Description

• We are seeking talented individuals to join our team and contribute to our goal of building a sustainable and prosperous agricultural sector in Africa.

Job Purpose

• The Business Analyst will play a pivotal role in the successful development of our flagship mobile applications, Vetwiz and Farmaid.
• This role requires a keen understanding of user needs, the ability to translate complex requirements into actionable solutions, and a strong partnership with the development team.
• The Business Analyst will be responsible for gathering and analyzing user requirements, creating detailed functional specifications, and ensuring that the applications meet the needs of our target users.

Key Responsibilities
Requirements Gathering and Analysis:

• Conduct in-depth user research and interviews with farmers, veterinarians, and other stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain user personas and journey maps to understand user needs and behaviors.
• Create detailed user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and document business requirements.

Functional Specification Development:

• Develop comprehensive functional specifications, including use cases, screen flows, and data models.
• Ensure that functional specifications align with business objectives and user needs.
• Create wireframes and prototypes to visualize application features.

Process Mapping:

• Document existing business processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Develop process flow diagrams and workflows to support application development.

Data Analysis:

• Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform product development decisions.
• Develop data models and data dictionaries to ensure data consistency and quality.

Stakeholder Management:

• Facilitate workshops and meetings with stakeholders to gather requirements.
• Manage stakeholder expectations and communicate project progress effectively.
• Resolve conflicts and issues related to requirements.

Collaboration:

• Work closely with the development team to ensure that requirements are clearly understood and implemented.
• Collaborate with the project manager to ensure that the project is delivered on time and within budget.

Required Skills and Experience

• A Bachelor's Degree in Business Management / Information Technology / Computer Science / or relevant field is essential
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in business analysis methodologies and tools such as BPMN (Business Process Model and Notation) Visio, Lucid Chat etc
• Proficiency in the use of project management collaborative tools such as Jira, Trello, Asana or Monday.com is essential
• Experience in creating user stories, use cases, and functional specifications
• Ability to translate complex business requirements into technical specifications
• Experience working in an agile development environment
• Knowledge of the agricultural industry and technology is preferred
• Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL) is a plus.
