Description
The Media Sales Manager will be responsible for leading and managing the media sales team to achieve sales targets and drive revenue growth. This role involves developing and executing sales strategies, building and maintaining client relationships, and overseeing the sales process to ensure client satisfaction and business success.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Strategy and Management:
Develop and implement effective sales strategies to meet or exceed revenue targets.
Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities and threats.
Monitor sales performance and provide regular reports to senior management.
Client Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, understanding their advertising needs and goals.
Develop customized media solutions that address client objectives and drive results.
Ensure high levels of client satisfaction by providing excellent service and support.
Team Leadership and Development:
Lead, mentor, and motivate the media sales team to achieve individual and team sales goals.
Conduct regular performance reviews and provide training and development opportunities.
Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
Sales Process Oversight:
Oversee the entire sales process, from prospecting and lead generation to closing and post-sale support.
Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., marketing, creative, production) to ensure smooth execution of media campaigns.
Address and resolve any issues or challenges that arise during the sales process.
Business Development:
Identify and pursue new business opportunities and partnerships to expand the client base and increase revenue.
Develop and present proposals, pitches, and presentations to potential clients.
Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure new business.
Market and Industry Knowledge:
Stay up-to-date with industry trends, media innovations, and changes in consumer behavior.
Utilize market research and data to drive sales strategies and decision-making.
Reporting and Analytics:
Track and analyze sales metrics, including revenue, conversion rates, and client acquisition.
Prepare and present sales reports, forecasts, and performance analyses to senior management.
Budget Management:
Manage the sales department budget, ensuring efficient use of resources and alignment with financial goals.
Monitor expenses and adjust strategies as needed to stay within budget.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Media, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Proven experience in media sales or a related field, with a strong track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Previous experience in a management or leadership role is highly desirable.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in sales and CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).
Knowledge of media industry trends, advertising platforms, and audience metrics.
