Job Title: Senior Finance Manager III
Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full Time
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management: Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. Develop and implement financial strategies to optimize financial performance and support business objectives.
Accounting Oversight: Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records and statements. Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliation and reporting. Supervise accounting staff and provide guidance on complex accounting issues.
Tax Compliance: Develop and oversee tax strategies and planning to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations. Prepare and review tax returns and coordinate with external tax advisors for audits and filings.
Financial Reporting: Prepare and present financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, to senior management and stakeholders. Analyze financial performance and provide insights and recommendations for improvements.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process and periodic financial forecasts. Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying variances and implementing corrective actions.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, and internal controls. Conduct internal audits and review financial procedures to enhance compliance and efficiency.
Strategic Planning: Participate in strategic planning and decision-making processes, providing financial insights and recommendations. Support mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic initiatives with financial analysis and due diligence.
Team Leadership: Mentor and develop finance team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment. Manage performance, set objectives, and provide feedback to ensure team effectiveness.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional certification preferred.
Experience: 7 - 10 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting roles, with at least 3-5 years in a senior management position.
Skills:Strong understanding of financial principles, accounting standards, and tax regulations. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and strategic financial planning. Effective leadership and team management skills. Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.
Preferred Qualifications: Advanced degree (MBA or Master’s in Finance/Accounting) is a plus.
