Job Title: Field Operations Superintendent

Job Summary
Operates, monitors, and control the assigned units of the plant to process, store, and export products as per specification, while maintaining company and HSE requirements to maximize plant yield.
Responsibilities
Start up, operate, monitor, and shut down process and utility systems.
Assists in the monitoring of the facility parameters and equipment (UGPF, IGRF, City gate/Unicem PRMS and Stubb Creek and pipelines) while ensuring strict adherence to safety procedures for the overall safety of the plant.
Carry out daily monitoring and recording of all plant operating parameters, flow, pressure, temperature and level, and report abnormalities to supervisor.
Prepare/line up equipment such as pressure vessels, pumps, electric motors, compressors, boilers/heaters, hot oil system, glycol regeneration system, Fire Water system, PRMS, Well heads, fuel gas system, Instrument air compressors, metering, and other process equipment for start-up/shutdown in accordance with Start-up and Shutdown procedures.
Operate plant facilities' equipment and systems including, but not limited to process controls, pumps, instrument air system, dehydrators, fuel gas system, emergency shutdown systems, gas generators, reciprocating compressors, diesel generators, gas-fired boilers, process pumps and mechanical refrigeration system, PRMS, water hydrant systems etc.
Ensure normal operations of process plant and safety critical equipment through parameter logging and update of log sheet accordingly.
Manage acceptable condensate/crude oil levels within plant specifications.
Ensure Wells are properly lined-up for test and that all Well test parameters are recorded and documented.
Check and ensure safety equipment in the plant is kept in proper operating condition, prompt reporting of faults or breakdown of equipment to the supervisor.
Assist Laboratory Technician during shift operation in carrying out routine analysis such BS&W, API gravity, Pour point and Oil in Water (PPM) analysis.
Monitor and operate electrical and hydraulic control panels, safety and emergency shutdown devices and fire and gas systems.
Perform standby duties during Wireline/Well Intervention and maintenance work to ensure condition are safe to do maintenance work.
Ensure all Corrosion monitoring device and equipment are functional and maintain to safeguard asset integrity.
Participate in the monthly and annual compliance testing of safety devices.
Operate (start-up and shutdown) non-critical equipment to ensure continuous operations of the plan.
Ensure normal and stable plant conditions through communication with Supervisors and colleagues on the plant.
Attend and participate in daily operations review meetings with Operations personnel to discuss the preceding 24-hours’ activities and plan the coming day’s activities.
Ensure stable operating of the plant equipment and carryout routine checks and report deviations to Supervisor.
Respond to emergencies according to emergency procedures deploying safety equipment where necessary.
Ensure compliance with company policy, procedures, and applicable regulations.
Qualifications
A minimum of OND, City & Guilds Level 4 certificate in any engineering discipline with at least three (3) years’ Industry experience in oil/gas production & processing facility, Wellhead Operations, refining and petrochemical industry.
Two years (2) of which should be as a field Operator in a process plant.
Competencies:
Working knowledge of oil and gas operations (Well head operations, Well testing, Gas Dehydration, Reconditioning & Pressure
Reduction operations, Oil/Gas Process operations, compression, Boilers/Heaters, pipelines, and Metering.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Proficient in Microsoft office packages
Good time management, communication, and people skills.
A good working knowledge/ application of computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for work order processes.
Must be conversant with PTW System.
