Job Title: Resource Mobilisation Officer, Public Health
Location: Abuja (FCT)
Job Overview
The Resource Mobilization Officer, Public Health will play a critical role in securing financial and non-financial resources to support AYGF’s public health programs and initiatives.
This role involves developing and implementing resource mobilization strategies, building and managing relationships with donors and partners, and ensuring that public health projects are adequately funded and effectively executed.
The ideal candidate will have experience in resource mobilization, a strong understanding of public health issues, and excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Key Responsibilities
The roles and responsibilities of this include but not limited to:
Resource Mobilization Strategy and Planning:
Develop and execute comprehensive resource mobilization strategies to support AYGF’s public health programs and initiatives.
Identify and research potential funding sources, including grants, corporate sponsorships, and individual donations.
Design and implement resource mobilization campaigns that align with public health objectives and attract support from diverse funding sources.
Donor Cultivation and Relationship Management:
Build and maintain relationships with potential and existing donors, including public health foundations, government agencies, corporate sponsors, and individual supporters.
Prepare high-quality grant proposals, funding applications, and sponsorship requests tailored to the interests and requirements of potential donors.
Have regular communication with donors, prospective and established, while working closely with AYGF’s Communication Unit to coordinate inputs to external events and opportunities
Support the Chief of party in identifying representational events with the potential for meaningful donor interaction. Provide proactive and timely advice to senior management on strategic interaction with individual donors.
Develop and implement donor stewardship plans to ensure ongoing engagement, satisfaction, and support for public health projects.
Public Health Program Support:
Collaborate with public health experts and program managers to design, plan, and develop community health programs and initiatives.
Provide support for the implementation of public health programs, ensuring that projects are carried out effectively and meet established goals.
Develop and oversee monitoring and evaluation systems to assess the impact of public health initiatives and provide regular reports to donors and stakeholders.
Marketing and Communication:
Develop and implement marketing and communication strategies to promote public health programs and raise awareness about community health issues.
Create engaging content for various communication channels, including social media, newsletters, and press releases, to highlight public health initiatives and attract support.
Represent AYGF at public health events, conferences, and community meetings to promote public health programs and build relationships with stakeholders.
Financial Management and Reporting:
Develop and manage budgets for public health programs, ensuring that resources are used effectively and in accordance with donor requirements.
Prepare and submit financial reports to donors and stakeholders, ensuring transparency and accountability in the use of funds.
Oversee the administration of grants, including tracking expenditures, ensuring compliance with grant agreements, and reporting on grant outcomes.
Research and Analysis:
Conduct research to identify trends in public health funding, donor interests, and partnership opportunities.
Analyze data related to public health needs, donor engagement, and program outcomes to inform resource mobilization strategies and improve program effectiveness.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. A Master’s Degree or relevant certification is desired.
3 - 5 years of experience in resource mobilization, fundraising, or public health program management, with a proven track record of successful grant writing and donor engagement.
Strong understanding of public health issues, trends, and challenges, with the ability to apply this knowledge to resource mobilization efforts.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling proposals, create engaging content, and engage with diverse stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with donors, partners, and community organizations.
Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with CRM software, fundraising databases, and online marketing tools.
Experience in marketing, public relations, or communications is a plus.
