Job Overview
The Head of Project Delivery will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and successful delivery of all projects within AYGF. This role requires a strategic leader with excellent project management skills, capable of ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and in alignment with AYGF’s mission and goals.
The Head of Project Delivery must be capable of optimizing processes, managing resources, and driving operational excellence across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
The roles and responsibilities of this include but not limited to:
Strategic Project Management:
Develop and implement comprehensive project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
Oversee the execution of projects, ensuring that they adhere to defined scope, budget, and timelines.
Ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget, meeting the organization’s quality standards.
Leadership and Team Management:
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of project managers and coordinators, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
Set performance objectives, conduct regular performance reviews, and provide continuous feedback and development opportunities to team members.
Identify and address training needs within the project delivery team to enhance their skills and capabilities.
Resource Allocation and Budget Management:
Allocate resources effectively across projects, ensuring optimal utilization and avoiding resource conflicts.
Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring projects are delivered within financial constraints.
Implement cost control measures to ensure projects remain within budget without compromising quality.
Stakeholder Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, partners, government agencies, and community representatives.
Facilitate clear and effective communication between project teams, stakeholders, and senior management.
Provide regular updates and detailed reports on project progress, challenges, and outcomes to senior management and stakeholders.
Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement:
Ensure all projects meet AYGF quality standards and adhere to industry best practices.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance project delivery efficiency.
Establish mechanisms for capturing and incorporating feedback to continuously improve project delivery.
Innovation and Strategy Development:
Promote a culture of innovation within the project delivery team, encouraging new ideas and approaches.
Lead strategic initiatives aimed at improving project delivery and expanding the organization’s impact.
Stay abreast of industry trends and incorporate relevant advancements into project planning and execution.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
7 - 10 years of experience in Project management, preferably within the non-profit or international development sector.
Proven track record of successfully delivering complex Projects on time and within budget.
Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
Excellent strategic planning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with project management and financial software.
