Job Title: Poultry (Layer) Farm Manager

Location: Omoku, Rivers

Job Description

• The Layer Farm Manager will be responsible for monitoring staff, birds, feeds and other supplies, preparing budgets and reports, and ensuring maximum profit of the layer unit.

Key Daily Responsibilities

• Managing and supervising the layer farm operations, including the care and welfare of the poultry birds, feeding, and vaccination schedules, egg collection, and overall maintenance of the pens as well as the environment.
• Participate in planning and executing the farm's production strategy, ensuring that the farm meets the production targets, quality standards, and safety regulations.
• Managing and controlling the layer farm's budget, including operational costs, feed expenses, labour costs, and other expenses.
• Monitoring and maintaining the layer farm's inventory of feed, medication, and other supplies, ensuring adequate supply levels are maintained.
• Participate in recruiting, training, and supervising layer farm staff, ensuring that they are competent, efficient, and safety conscious.
• Implement and enforce biosecurity measures to prevent the spread of diseases and protect the health and welfare of the poultry birds.
• Conduct regular farm inspections and implement corrective actions as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from a recgonized universirty with at least 5 years of hands-on experience in the management of a layer farm.
