Librarian at Veritas University

Veritas University was founded by the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria through a resolution given at its March 2002 meeting in Abuja. The University is located at Bwari, Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. The mission of Veritas University is to provide its students with an integral and holistic formation that combines academic and professional training with physical, moral, spiritual, social, and cultural formation together with formation of Christian religious principles and the social teachings of the Catholic Church.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Librarian

Location: Abuja

The Job

• The University Librarian shall be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the provision of Library services in the University and its constituent Departments

The Candidate
Candidates applying for the position of the University Librarian must possess the following:

• PhD in Library Science or in Library and Information Science.
• Considerable academic publications.
• At least 10 years relevant working experience in a Tertiary Institution, preferably in a recognized University.
• Be a registered member of the Librarians Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN).
• Must be of the equivalent rank of Deputy Librarian in the University
• system.
• He/she must not be above 60 years at the time of appointment and must be of good physical and mental health.
• Must have Sufficient knowledge of ICT.

Salary and Conditions of Service
The salary and conditions of service shall be as negotiated with the Governing Council of the University.
