Job Description

• The Head of Operations is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the microfinance bank, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of financial services to customers.
• This role involves managing operations, optimizing processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and leading a team to achieve the bank's strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities
Operational Management:

• Oversee daily banking operations, including account opening, loan processing, and transaction handling.
• Ensure smooth and efficient operation of all branches and service outlets.
• Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to improve efficiency and service quality.

Process Optimization:

• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with other departments to streamline operations and improve customer service delivery.
• Monitor key performance indicators and operational metrics to identify areas for improvement.

Compliance and Risk Management:

• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal policies.
• Develop and maintain a robust risk management framework to mitigate operational risks.
• Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure compliance and address any identified issues.

Team Leadership:

• Lead, mentor, and motivate the operations team to achieve performance goals.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide training and development opportunities for team members.
• Foster a positive and productive work environment that encourages teamwork and collaboration.

Customer Service:

• Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by delivering exceptional service and resolving customer complaints promptly.
• Implement customer feedback mechanisms to continuously improve service quality.
• Develop strategies to enhance customer experience and build long-term relationships.

Strategic Planning:

• Contribute to the development of the bank's strategic plans and objectives.
• Collaborate with senior management to align operational strategies with overall business goals.
• Prepare and manage the operations budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Banking, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certification is an advantage.
• Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in banking operations, with at least 5 years in a managerial role is a MUST.
• Strong knowledge of microfinance banking operations and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to manage and lead a diverse team.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on process improvement.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
