Job Description
The Head of Operations is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the microfinance bank, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of financial services to customers.
This role involves managing operations, optimizing processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and leading a team to achieve the bank's strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Management:
Oversee daily banking operations, including account opening, loan processing, and transaction handling.
Ensure smooth and efficient operation of all branches and service outlets.
Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to improve efficiency and service quality.
Process Optimization:
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance operational efficiency.
Collaborate with other departments to streamline operations and improve customer service delivery.
Monitor key performance indicators and operational metrics to identify areas for improvement.
Compliance and Risk Management:
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal policies.
Develop and maintain a robust risk management framework to mitigate operational risks.
Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure compliance and address any identified issues.
Team Leadership:
Lead, mentor, and motivate the operations team to achieve performance goals.
Conduct performance evaluations and provide training and development opportunities for team members.
Foster a positive and productive work environment that encourages teamwork and collaboration.
Customer Service:
Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by delivering exceptional service and resolving customer complaints promptly.
Implement customer feedback mechanisms to continuously improve service quality.
Develop strategies to enhance customer experience and build long-term relationships.
Strategic Planning:
Contribute to the development of the bank's strategic plans and objectives.
Collaborate with senior management to align operational strategies with overall business goals.
Prepare and manage the operations budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Banking, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certification is an advantage.
Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in banking operations, with at least 5 years in a managerial role is a MUST.
Strong knowledge of microfinance banking operations and regulatory requirements.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Proven ability to manage and lead a diverse team.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on process improvement.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
