Job Title: Head of Finance
Location: Lagos
Job Summary
The role holder is accountable for the financial and risk management operations of the Organisation.
The HoF will analyse the financial stability of the Company and provide financial information to the board and Executive Management.
They will have primary day to day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial related activities of the BPDW.
This will include direct responsibility for accounting, financing, forecasting, and strategic planning.
Working Relationships:
Reporting To: Managing Director/CEO
Direct Reports: Finance & Accounting Team
Internal: All Departments & Business Units
External: Customers and Vendors, Banks, Government and Statutory Organisations, External Advisors.
Areas of Responsibilities
Planning:
Assist in formulating the company's future direction and supporting tactical initiatives
Monitor and direct the implementation of strategic business plans
Provides leadership in the development and continuous evaluation of short and long-term strategic financial objectives.
Provide management with advice on the financial implications of business activities.
Manage the capital request and budgeting processes
Develop performance measures that support the company's strategic direction
Operations:
Participate in key decisions as a member of the management team
Maintain in-depth relations with all members of the management team
Oversee the accounting function, ensuring compliance with local and international accounting standards and regulations departments
Oversee the company's transaction processing systems
Implement operational best practices
Oversee employee benefit plans, with particular emphasis on maximizing a cost-effective benefits package
Financial Information:
Oversee the issuance of financial information
Report financial results to Executive Management
Prepare reports on costs, productivity, margins and company expenditures
Preparing the monthly profit and loss, and balance sheet reports
Tax reporting and inventory processing
Collecting and analysing data, used in the preparation of weekly and monthly estimates
Advising on estimates for project funding
Creating KPI reports
Preparing weekly cash flow statements and controlling expenditure
Oversee the preparation of year-end accounts and statutory accounts
Oversee the provision of periodic performance reports
Funding:
Monitor cash balances and cash forecasts
Arrange for debt and equity financing to secure adequate liquidity for the business
Optimize returns on Company’s assets and invest free funds
Third Parties:
Maintain banking relationships
Successfully Represent the company with external agencies and clients

Technical:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification, with ACA or ACCA
Minimum 10 years’ post qualification experience, plus minimum 5 years in Management position
Experienced Microsoft Office Suite User with expertise in Excel and Power Point
Ability to use various accounting software effectively
