Responsibilities
Lead and guide the mechanical engineering team ensuring project and job success, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment for the team members.
Lead the mechanical engineering team in planning, executing, and monitoring mechanical aspects of engineering projects. This includes defining project scope, assigning tasks, setting timelines and budgets, and managing risks.
Provide technical leadership and expertise to the team in solving complex mechanical engineering problems, guiding design decisions, appraisal of bill of engineering and measurement, Quotations from sub-contractors, and ensuring adherence to technical specifications and quality.
Motivate, coach, and develop team members providing clear direction, performance feedback, and opportunities for professional growth.
Continuously evaluate and improve processes within the mechanical engineering team to enhance efficiency and quality.
Effectively allocate resources (personnel, equipment, budget) within your team to ensure timely completion of projects while optimizing costs.
Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure the quality and functionality of mechanical components and systems.
Effectively communicate with various stakeholders, including team members, other engineering disciplines, sub-contractors, project managers, and clients. Clearly explain technical concepts and collaborate to achieve project goals.
Prepare reports on project and work progress, resource utilization, and team performance.
Promote a safe work environment for the team by enforcing safety regulations and procedures.
Must be able to interpret drawings, PIDs, and schematics
Good in product design and testing.
Requirements
Minimum 5 - 7 years of experience in mechanical engineering design or manufacturing with minimum of 2 years in same role
Higher National Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Industrial Engineering / Agricultural and Bioresources Engineering or a closely related field.
Membership of professional body (COREN, ACEN, IAEng etc)
Strong technical skills in mechanical engineering principles, including mechanics, thermodynamics, and materials science
Professional Certification- PMP, CIPMN, CEng, QMS etc.
Experience with data analysis and reporting tools (e. g., Excel, Power BI, Microsoft office)
Familiarity with relevant engineering software or tools is strongly desired (e.g. AutoCAD, SOLIDWORKS, Pro-E, ANSYS, Revit Microsoft project).
Salary
N250,000 monthly.
