Job Description
Our client is looking to hire an Alumni Engagement Lead who will play a crucial role in fostering meaningful and sustainable relationships with the alumni of our organization.
They are responsible for developing and implementing strategies to engage, support, and empower our alumni network, ensuring their continued involvement and contribution to the organization's mission of upskilling young people and supporting them with job opportunities.
The Alumni role will be key in developing strategies to build and strengthen relationships between the organization and its alumni in order to maximise alumni engagement, career progression and income transformation.
Responsibilities
The Alumni Strategy & Engagement lead performs a wide range of duties including some or all of the following:
Alumni Engagement Strategy:
Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for engaging with alumni, including communication plans, events, and initiatives aimed at maintaining strong connections with our alumni network.
Relationship Building:
Build and maintain strong relationships with alumni, understanding their needs, interests, and aspirations. Serve as a primary point of contact for alumni inquiries, feedback, and support.
Alumni Programming:
Plan, organise, and coordinate alumni events, workshops, and networking opportunities to facilitate meaningful connections among alumni and between alumni and current program participants.
Career Support:
Provide career development support and resources to alumni, including job search assistance, mentorship opportunities, and access to professional development workshops and training programs.
Communication and Outreach:
Develop and implement communication strategies to keep alumni informed about organisational updates, achievements, and opportunities for involvement.
Utilise various channels, including social media, newsletters, and alumni portals, to effectively engage with alumni.
Work with Communications and Academy Career Services teams to develop and roll-out a communications strategy that grows the organization alumni profiles.
Database Management:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of alumni contacts and engagement activities using CRM systems or other database tools. Track and analyse alumni data to measure engagement metrics and inform future engagement strategies.
Collaboration:
Collaborate closely with internal teams, including program management, communications, and fundraising, to integrate alumni engagement initiatives into overall organisational strategies and goals.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess B.Sc Degrees in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field
3 - 5 years relevant work experience in event planning/execution, alumni, project management or customer service delivery, youth services, human services, or related field.
Proven track record of developing and implementing successful engagement strategies.
Experience with event planning, communication, and fundraising.
Additional requirements:
Occasionally the need to attend events taking place “out-of-hours”, normally by prior arrangement, for which time off in lieu can be claimed.
Maintaining a good knowledge of the alternative pathways sector and opportunities available for continuous & professional development and further education for alumni.
Must have skills:
Organisational Skills: Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously. Attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey information, ideas, and messages to diverse audiences. Experience in developing engaging content for various communication channels.
Relationship Building: Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with diverse stakeholders, including alumni, staff, volunteers, and external partners
Creativity: Innovative and creative thinker with the ability to develop engaging and impactful alumni programming and initiatives. Ability to think strategically and identify opportunities for alumni engagement and support
Teamwork: Collaborative and team-oriented mindset with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment. Experience working collaboratively with colleagues from diverse backgrounds and disciplines.
