Job Title: Magento & Drupal Developer

Location: Ikoyi, Lagos (Hybrid)

Normal working Condition (7.30am - 4.30ppm)

Job Description

• We are looking for experienced and talented engineers that has the ability to develop web applications using PHP to join our Digital Technology organization Frontend/ Backend/Online Development team.
• It's a really exciting time to join us as we have some big plans for growth which are already in play and this person(s) could be a part of this to aid predominantly in their development skills alongside other platforms where necessary, to also enable them to round out their skillset.
• You will be working directly with clients as well as our internal teams on projects, which range from E-commerce to bespoke platforms for analytics.
• Magento and Drupal development experience is desired. Other skills include writing complicated SQL statements, XML, CSS, and JavaScript. Good communication skills are a must.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with technical colleagues, non-technical users, and senior management to collect requirements, describe software product features, and manage expectations
• Collaborate with the team to gather and comprehend project requirements, ensuring clear and effective communication throughout the development process.
• Proactively identify and execute Magento updates as needed to maintain system integrity and performance.
• Install and manage security patches to safeguard applications against vulnerabilities and threats.
• Engage in the full software development lifecycle, including analyzing, designing, coding, testing, and debugging applications to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Serve as a subject matter expert, providing guidance, mentorship, and training to junior and mid-level engineers.
• Lead the adoption of new technologies, architectures, and methodologies to drive
  continuous improvement and transformation.
• Foster collaboration and knowledge sharing across teams and departments, promoting a culture of innovation, learning, and excellence.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to align technical initiatives with broader organizational strategies and priorities.
• Ownership of your work and caring about delivering to a high quality
• Ability to work with business stakeholders to translate and prioritise business requirements into technical solutions is highly desirable

Requirements

• A Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or professional industry experience
• Experience building software components that have been successfully delivered
• Hands-on dev experience with PHP (MySQL, HTML 5, XHTML, CSS, AJAX, JavaScript, jQuery, Foundation, Bootstrap).
• Exposure on Knockoutjs and GraphQL.
• Experience in Rest APIs and third-party API integrations..
• The candidate should be able to identify bugs & issues and respond accordingly on time.
• Must have strong experience with Magento and Drupal and upgrading the version.
• Should be able to identify and resolve problems integration-related with the Magento and Drupal Platform.
• Experience with integration with Enterprise systems and software
• Experience with Magento cloud version.
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum project management frameworks.
• Good communication skills and the ability to maintain accurate documentation.
• Must have the ability to develop Magento Modules and Customization, Extension Development.
• Must be able to deploy the project using CI/CD Jenkins, git.
• Magento Certification would be a plus.
• Understanding of computer science fundamentals including object-oriented design, data structures and algorithm design
• Attention to detail, analytical thinking, methodical, problem-solving ability, and strong time management skills
• Proven success in leading and managing projects and teams
• Demonstrate exceptional expertise and leadership in Magento Developer and Drupal Developer.
• Possess a deep understanding of the Magento and Drupal frameworks and architectures to effectively leverage their capabilities in projects.
• An understanding of technology in product development is highly desirable
• An understanding of full project lifecycle in a structured environment would be an advantage
• Knowledge and understanding of Microsoft technologies
• The role would be suitable for someone with a technical degree or background in computing or a STEM subject (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics
• A Developer who has built enterprise software solutions in the cloud, ideally dealing with Big data - Large data sets - file distribution and bulk packages as well as API development.

Skill set:

• A sound understanding of software engineering ideally Commerce and Telecoms with ability to fix bugs, optimise performance and develop new modules
• Experience in web development, specifically using PHP
• We require the individual(s) to have experience in building Front End UI's.
• Knowledge of PHP 7, MySQL and MVC frameworks in a Linux environment
• Knowledge of Symfony Open-Source web application framework
• Website development experience with Magento or a similar E-commerce platform
• Front End development with React and JavaScript
• Experience using Jira or a similar tool to prioritise and track tasks
• Designing and building data-driven applications
• Automated testing and continuous delivery
• Integrating with third party RESTful APIs or systems
• Hands-on expertise in disparate technologies, from Front End user interfaces through to Back End APIs and anything in between.
• Candidate may be required to work beyond stated hours as the business demands.

Salary
N400,000.00 - N1,000,000.00
