Job Description

Job Responsibilities

• Managing teams of employees across multiple departments to ensure that operations run smoothly and achieve respective goals, departments include: Investment and Trade, Programs and Events, Research and Growth.
• Lead, or participate in, multidisciplinary teams to assist investors in the identification, assessment and preparation of investment operations in the fields of food security, nutrition, agriculture, rural development, natural resource management and climate change adaptation and/or mitigation, and participate in pre-appraisal and appraisal missions
• Managing project teams that are responsible for designing and implementing new processes or improving existing ones
• Set team goals, manage performance, coach staff and people development activities
• Lead or participate in investment support projects aiming at the facilitation of public-private policy dialogue in agri-food value chains, including interactions with development partners and private sector stakeholders, to promote the emergence of enabling investment conditions
• Conduct periodic meetings and presentations on team performance
• Conduct at least bi-annual reporting against project milestones and assessment of results, lessons, challenges, and risks/risk management, refocusing activities as required to meet program targets in coordination with global and regional stakeholders.
• Participating in research activities such as analyzing economic trends, industry developments, and company performance
• Development of programs and project in line with Welcome2Africa International goal and objectives especially with respect to profitability and revenue
• Ensure that all programs are on track in line with the budget and timeline perspectives.
• Ensure Welcome2Africa International meets the forecasted profit outlined and agreed by the CEO and Board
• Ensuring that all departmental policies and procedures are followed
• Planning and coordinating operational activities within an organization such as meetings, events, or conferences
• Monitoring employee productivity and attendance to identify any areas for improvement

Qualifications for Operations Lead

• M.B.A/Bachelor’s degree in business or related major or equivalent experience is required for this position
• A minimum of four years of experience in the investment management industry or related business field
• Candidates must be analytical, detail-oriented and precise with numbers, with a solid understanding of trade and investment concepts and strategies
• Proven people leadership with prior experience managing a team and complex projects
• The ability to interact and partner with clients, stakeholders, government officials, farmers, cooperatives and staff from other organizations with confidence.
