Job Title: Senior Barista
Location: Queen Elizabeth Street, Abuja (FCT)
Job Description
The Senior Barista is the Highest position in Mai Shayi Coffee Bar responsible for, All related products (Coffee, teas, food/pastries where applicable), and all Human Personnel under him/her (Barista and cleaners).
Serving all products with friendly, individualized attention towards each customer, He or she is also responsible for educating customers about our premium coffees and teas, roasting experience, food options, Equipment, and devices (Coffee Experience).
The Barista will fulfill any other duties the Café Manager, Head of coffee, or senior supervisor assigns and will represent.
Responsibilities
Sales/Customer Service:
Sells and serves products to customers in a courteous and friendly manner, by ensuring all baristas on duty greet, introduce themselves, and brand to customers audibly (make sure you check each barista on the checklist).
Ensure all baristas have a clear understanding of menu presentation, recommendation (coffee beans, food/pastries, devices, coffee brewing, and machinery), and order taking (food & beverage) - the checklist is a must.
Participates actively in ensuring customers are comfortable and fully engaged (cold brew served, coffee smelling experience, upselling. Checklist must.
Ensure all hot and cold drinks are on time and ordered as per table request. checklist
Verbally receives any feedback, complaints, or suggestions from customers in a friendly manner.
Responsible for handling all complaints arising from the bar.
Responds proactively to prevent laps in customer service situations.
Accurately overseeing the customer orders are charged accurately, closed by the cashier, and counts back change to customers in a courteous and friendly manner.
Ensuring accurate recording of customers' present and future orders, by baristas promptly. checklist
Answers customer questions regarding coffee blends, preparation, etc. professionally • Ensuring all Weighs, grinds, and packs coffee per customers’ orders according to company guidelines.
Maintains efficient, friendly service standards.
Daily Operations:
Ensure all items are restocked shelves, and fridge, when necessary, with a checklist.
Routinely cleans the bar area, floor, windows, and grinders, take out trash check

Reports potential safety hazards to the manager on duty.

Follows all company drink recipes and procedures.

Assists in maintaining a clean, well-merchandised store.
Assists in following visual presentation plans and standards.
Requirements
Able to train new baristas.
Runs errands, when needed.
Works special events, as needed.
Maintains positive company morale.
Physical Demands:
Regularly required to stand, walk, talk, and hear.
Frequently required to use hand-to-finger motions, handle or feel objects, and reach with hands and arms.
Vision requirements: Close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust and focus.
Regularly required to handle food and hot beverages.
Qualifications
First degree (HND/BSC or equivalent)
Experience in Mai Shayi coffee bar not less than one year or higher senior barista level for 3 years respectively in other specialty stores.
Excellent verbal and written skills.
Availability to work around peak hours, including nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
A polite, engaging personality.
Display of high-quality leadership skills
Well organized and detail-oriented.
Basic cash handling experience.
Creativity skills are an added advantage.
