Community Engagement & Social Development Initiative (CESDI) is a non-governmental organization committed to the sustainable livelihood of under privileged women, children and youth. CESDI is duly registered with the Nigerian Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) since 2014. The Organization is involved in community development, capacity building, economic empowerment, social counseling, social mobilization, raising awareness/ education on health and conflict resolution/peace building initiatives.
We are recruiting a highly skilled and experienced candidate to join our team in the capacity below:
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing our organization’s financial operations, including financial planning, monitoring, budgeting, retirement and reporting.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a transparent and accurate financial account system in line with local laws
Ensure that proper financial procedures and systems are operated and maintained throughout the project cycle
Responsible for archiving financial data and prepare, process payment request to staffs
Review all financial documents, Retirement
Monitoring on-going levels of expenditure on individual project against budget lines, and provide timely advice on likely favorable or adverse
Set-up, establish and monitor internal controls for all CESDI finance and admin team
Ensure all Staff understands the processes for financial activity with
Ensure proper documentation and settlement of all advances
Provide administrative support in logistics and procurement
Prepare monthly accounting report and documentation for Donors and CESDI
Prepare donor financial reports in line with donor reporting
Ensure compliance with local regulations in respect of financial and other matters (Pension Taxation and labor laws)
Prepare and update the weekly and or monthly cash requests
Reconcile all bank accounts, petty cash and cash
Prepare bank reconciliation monthly for the assigned
Ensure prompt and correct payment to consultants, vendors and project
Prepare budget/actual variance
Prepare ageing analysis report and update the asset register
Support the project coordinator in planning and budgeting for all financial aspects of the project
Support project implementation and monitoring by the project team in all project locations and sectors.
Requirements
A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
At least 3 years of experience in a similar role.
Experience working in international Non-Governmental (INGO) with a background in Audit and compliance management is considered as an asset.
Proficiency in English (written and spoken) is essential
Demonstrated experience with coordinating, analyzing and reporting financial performance, financial forecasting, and budget variance analysis
Professional certification in accounting (CPA, ACCA, etc.).
Strong knowledge of financial management principles and practices.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in financial software and systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, SAP).
