Job Overview

• We are seeking a highly motivated and responsible individual to join our team as a Gateman. This position offers a unique chance to play a critical role in ensuring the security and safety of our facilities and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the security and safety of the premises and personnel
• Monitor and control the entry and exit of vehicles and people
• Verify the identity of visitors and vendors before granting access
• Record and report any suspicious or unauthorized activity to the appropriate authorities
• Assist with traffic control and parking management
• Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing vehicles and goods
• Perform regular checks of the premises to ensure all gates and fences are secure
• Provide excellent customer service to visitors and personnel

Requirements

• Education and Training:
  • A high school diploma (NCE, OND, or its equivalent)
  • Some employers may prefer candidates with additional vocational training in security or safety procedures.
• Physical Fitness:
  • Gatemen need to be physically fit as they may need to stand for long periods and perform tasks such as patrolling the premises.
  • Good health and stamina are essential.
• Security Awareness:
  • Knowledge of basic security protocols and procedures.
  • Familiarity with access control systems and surveillance equipment.
• Communication Skills:
  • Ability to communicate effectively with visitors, employees, and other staff.
  • Gatemen often need to provide directions or answer questions.
• Observational Skills:
  • Vigilance and attention to detail are crucial.
  • Gatemen must be able to spot potential security risks or unauthorized access.
• Integrity and Reliability:
  • Trustworthiness is essential, as gatemen handle access control and security.
• Punctuality and reliability are also important
