Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Manager to join our Aluminum and Copper Scrap Recycling Plant.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the quality assurance processes, ensuring that all products meet the highest standards of quality and compliance with industry regulations.
The Quality Assurance Manager will develop and implement quality management systems, lead quality improvement initiatives, and manage a team of quality assurance professionals.
Work Environment:
The Quality Assurance Manager will work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be required to ensure safety.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive quality management system (QMS) in line with industry standards and regulations.
Oversee the inspection and testing of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure they meet quality specifications.
Lead and manage the quality assurance team, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
Conduct regular audits of the production process to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with quality standards.
Collaborate with production and engineering teams to develop and implement quality control processes and procedures.
Analyze quality data and trends to identify root causes of quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations related to quality assurance activities.
Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure the quality of incoming materials meets required standards.
Prepare and present quality reports to senior management, highlighting key quality metrics and areas for improvement.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, reduce waste, and improve overall process efficiency.
Develop and maintain documentation related to quality assurance, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and quality records.
Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in quality assurance and recycling.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering / Materials Science / Quality Management, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality assurance, preferably in the recycling or manufacturing industry preferably in an aluminum or metal recycling environment.
Strong knowledge of quality management systems (ISO 9001 or equivalent) and quality control methodologies.
Proven experience in leading and managing a team of quality assurance professionals.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address quality issues effectively.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Proficiency in using quality management software and tools.
Knowledge of environmental, health, and safety regulations related to quality assurance in a recycling plant.
Certification in quality assurance (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Engineer) is a plus.
