Job Title: Regional Finance Officer
Location: Ibadan, Oyo
Employment Type: Full Time
Objectives
Implement robust accounting and internal control systems to prevent fraud, waste, and misuse of financial resources, ensuring proper segregation of duties in transaction processing.
Prepare monthly bank reconciliation and income reports.
Monitor budgets to ensure planned spending, review budget amounts against actual expenditures, and prepare variance analysis reports monthly and quarterly.
Input daily transactions into Marie Stopes International’s SUN system.
Ensure proper coding and allocation of expenses to relevant cost centers/projects within the region.
Review and process cash requests/retirements, and periodically review staff accounts, ensuring proper allocation of retired expenses against cash advances.
Manage petty cash/float within the region.
Collaborate with the Regional Manager to compile quarterly budgets from team members.
Contribute to monthly management and periodic statutory reports/meetings.
Ensure regional field office fund requests align with specific project budgets and allowable expenses.
Remit all statutory deductions to appropriate authorities within the region in a timely manner.
Ensure timely payments to mobilizers, casual/contract staff, and providers of products and services.
Coordinate payments for all project activities.
Ensure proper controls at centers/clinics and provide timely support to center managers.
Ensure timely deduction and deposition of Withholding Tax (WHT) to authorities/states.
Ensure proper filing of expenses/retirements at the regional office.
Ensure assets are properly accounted for and maintained at the regional level.
Post and report monthly clinic/SF income in the region.
Work closely with the regional procurement committee to ensure adherence to MSI Nigeria’s procurement policy.
Monitor monthly/periodic stocktaking in the region.
Perform any other tasks assigned by the Line Manager, Regional Manager, or other superior officers.
Qualifications
B.Sc./HND in Accounting preferred, with ACA qualification or equivalent; a master’s degree is an advantage.
3-5 years of experience in a similar role within an INGO/NGO, private, or public organization.
Proficiency in using the SUN Accounting package.
Strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to multitask, manage workload, and produce high-quality, timely work and reports.
