Job Title: Finance Manager

Context
Supervised by the Financial Controller, the Incumbent assists in directing and coordinating the daily activities of the accounting team to accurately record the revenues, expenditures, assets, and liabilities of the company.
Supports in establishing financial status by developing and implementing systems for collecting, analysing, verifying, and reporting financial information.
Assists in all areas relating to accounting functions and financial reporting.
This position will be responsible for daily, weekly, and monthly accounting tasks and activities.
The Finance Manager is also expected to make recommendations to the management through the Financial Controller for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
This position must meet deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation and financial reporting.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
The Financial Manager is required to:
Ensure commencement of invoice processing, generation and submission of invoices
Preparation of staff payroll
Ensure all vessel insurances/custom bonds are up to date
Provide support to management in obtaining loan financing by review of offer letters and advising positions for negotiations with the lender, ensuring conclusion via contract signoff as well as disbursement of funds or delivery of financed asset
Advice periodically on settlement of all company loan obligations in line with their respective offers
Ensure daily compliance with financial procedures for cash management, AP and AR
Liaise with other departments to ensure all financial needs are met.
Ensure bank and cash reconciliations are carried out
Monthly supervision of bank & cash reconciliation
Monthly review and implementation of staff payroll
Liaison with other departments & management
Daily Invoicing & monthly AP settlement
Work on quarterly and annual financial reports
Support and advise management on other financial matters as required
Be responsible for your health and safety and that of others who may be affected by your actions at work
Perform other duties as assigned or required.

Compliance and conformance with S.M.A.R.T Objectives as set in performance appraisal sheet
Timeliness and Accuracy of financial reporting
Number of reconciled balance sheet accounts
Accounts payable and Receivables
Cost of operations
Quality and timeliness of reports, correspondences and other internal communications
Management of funds
100% compliance with all company's QHSE policies and standards.
Qualifications and Experience
University Degree and/ or Higher National Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or other relevant finance areas.
Relevant professional qualification such ICAN, ACCA etc.
6 - 8 cognate work experience in Accounting, Auditing, and or other related area.
Ability to listen, negotiate and influence all categories of people and act calmly and reasonably even under pressure
Excellent presentation, written & verbal communication skills
Knowledge of accounting principles, practices and procedures
Knowledge of computerized accounting systems and applications.
Knowledge of OpenERP accounting packages.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
Good knowledge of Corporate Finance, Internal Audit, Accounting and Legal Compliance
