Job Description

• Our team of experienced professionals is committed to delivering exceptional event planning and execution services, ensuring that every event we manage exceeds our clients' expectations.
• As the Head of Operations and Logistics, you will be responsible for overseeing the operational and logistical aspects of our event management services.
• You will lead a talented team of operations and logistics professionals to ensure the seamless execution of all events, from pre-planning to post-event evaluation.
• Your strategic thinking, problem-solving abilities, and strong attention to detail will be crucial in delivering exceptional event experiences for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
Operations Management:

• Develop and implement comprehensive operational strategies and policies to support the efficient delivery of Oaken Event Limited's services.
• Oversee the operations team, providing leadership, guidance, and mentorship to ensure they are equipped to handle the demands of event planning and execution.
• Continuously assess and optimize operational processes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing streamlined workflows.
• Collaborate with the event management and creative teams to ensure that operational considerations are integrated into the overall event planning and design.

Logistics Coordination:

• Manage the logistical planning and execution of all events, including venue selection, vendor coordination, transportation, and on-site event support.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with venues, suppliers, and other event service providers to secure the best deals and ensure reliable service delivery.
• Develop and maintain detailed event plans, checklists, and contingency plans to anticipate and address potential challenges.
• Oversee the procurement and management of event equipment, materials, and supplies, ensuring they are available and in good condition for each event.

Risk Management and Compliance:

• Identify and assess potential risks associated with event operations, develop mitigation strategies, and implement appropriate risk management protocols.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations, as well as venue-specific policies and requirements.
• Establish and manage event insurance coverage, permits, and other legal considerations to protect the organization and its clients.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Event Management / Logistics / Operations Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in event operations and logistics management, ideally in the event management industry.
• Exceptional project management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple events and projects simultaneously.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a proven track record of implementing effective solutions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
• Proficient in using event management software, logistics planning tools, and other relevant digital technologies.
• Thorough understanding of event industry regulations, health and safety protocols, and risk management best practices.
• Ability to work under pressure, manage tight deadlines, and maintain a calm and composed demeanor in high-stress situations.

N2,910,000 - N3,427,000 annually
