Job Title: Maintenance, Materials and Logistics Manager

Description
The Maintenance, Materials and Logistics Manager shall be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our maintenance, logistics operations and materials management.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all maintenance activities, maintaining optimal levels of materials and supplies, material sourcing, negotiating with vendors, logistics (efficient transportation of goods to and from suppliers and end users), and coordination of these processes for the COMPANY.
The function shall ensure compliance with safety regulations and implementing preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime and maximize equipment efficiency; oversee strategic sourcing, operational logistics and efficiently managing material usage across the organization, Development, Operations, Integrated Gas, Engineering and Capital Projects, and amongst other business units of the COMPANY.
The Maintenance, Materials and Logistics Manager will be responsible for managing the COMPANY’s assets integrity, materials sourcing plan, usage, determining optimum warehousing spaces and equipment and establish the future FEPDC demand for all materials based on the activity forecasts.
Maintenance Management:
Lead and mentor a team of maintenance engineers, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. Provide guidance and
support to develop technical skills and enhance team performance.
Develop and implement maintenance strategies aligned with COMPANY’s operational objectives and industry best practices. Establish maintenance programs, schedules, and procedures to optimize asset reliability, availability, and performance.
Oversee the maintenance and integrity of critical sub-surface and subsea assets and all other critical assets within the organization. Ensure compliance with COMPANY’s asset integrity management standards and regulatory requirements.
Apply reliability engineering principles to identify, analyze, and mitigate equipment failures and performance issues. Implement reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) strategies to prioritize maintenance activities and maximize equipment uptime
Develop and manage the maintenance budget, including forecasting, cost control, and expenditure tracking. Optimize resource allocation and procurement strategies to minimize costs while maintaining operational excellence
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance maintenance processes, workflows, and technologies. Identify opportunities for efficiency gains, cost savings, and innovation to optimize asset lifecycle management.
Materials & Logistics Management
Drive and execute annual material sourcing and management plan with supporting value driven strategies
Engage with and supervise COMPANY’s ERP Service Provider to develop and maintain a robust and suitable Materials Management module.
Develop and manage Materials Management Policy and Procedures that assures
control and accountability for the organization.
Develop, implement, and manage in conjunction with the various uses departments, long term materials sourcing plans, including Long Lead items for future facilities and Well Engineering projects.
Strategic planning of stock warehousing, determined by required stocking levels and material utilization analysis, to determine value driven sourcing, optimizing the flow of materials and products.
Continuously validate existing inventory of stock at COMPANY storage locations to ascertain if suitable materials of required specification exist in COMPANY inventory.
Put processes in place to ensure materials received comply with applicable technical specifications, documentation, and regulatory compliance where applicable.
Lead the full inventory stock count for materials, reconcile discrepancies, indicating reasons for discrepancies; and identify correcting transactions.
Develop a counting schedule and lead cycle counting of all materials at the various storage sites based on the developed and approved cycle counting schedule. Reconcile all variances with explanations and provide recommendations for improvement of material control.
Develop accuracy KPIs and ensure compliance with inventory accuracy KPIs
Negotiate shipping rates and arrangements with carriers, ensuring cost-effective transportation of goods.
Monitor freight costs and minimize premium freight, tracking material scrap and recommending strategies for reduction.
Participate in projects and continuous improvement activities, identifying
opportunities to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
Nurture relationships with clients and product suppliers, ensuring timely delivery of materials and products.
Advise COMPANY’s Contract Owners & SCM DGM of surplus, unallocated, obsolete and aged inventory and develop process to optimize the inventory through efficient replenishments, standardization, inspection of old stocks and surplus and eventual disposal (where necessary).
Generate monthly reports showing the status of the inventory, values, movements and change in value over periods.
Maintain Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry contacts to understand trends (Medium and Long term) and opportunities for FEPDC
Implement in conjunction with the Quality team, QA/QC procedures for materials that may require technical inspection towards achieving ISO 9001
Interface with the IAP Coordinator to ensure full operational logistics coverage for the organization.
Interface with all Company Logistics Service providers (Air, Sea and Land)
Have overall oversite to manage the FEPDC’s Logistics bases.
Achieve financial objectives by managing allocated annual budget, scheduling expenditures in accordance with the budget, analyzing variances and initiating corrective actions.
Performs all other related job functions as required.
Requirements
BSc Degree in Engineering, Business Administration and Management with an emphasis on Supply Chain and Operations Management.
Minimum Fifteen (15) years’ experience in maintenance operations, materials sourcing and/or materials/warehouse management preferably in the Oil and Gas or Energy industries of which a minimum of 5 years must be at a supervisory level.
Advanced knowledge of Asset Integrity Management
Advanced knowledge of Materials Management or Inventory Control
Advanced knowledge in Warehousing Management as demonstrated by certifications
Advanced knowledge in Hazardous Material Management and spill containment mitigation tasks.
Contract Management experience
Experience in performing physical inventory counts.
Excellent communication, teamwork, and leadership skills.
Ability to work under pressure.
Proficient in Computer Applications including word processing and spreadsheet applications (MS Word & Excel)
