We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Senior Engineer (Hydropower & Dams)

Location: Nigeria
Employment Type: Full Time

Key Responsibilities
Company Policies and Values:

Project Delivery & Client Interaction:

• Responsible for engineering design input on medium/large projects (and/or assisting with the management of such projects)
• Project management and/or integration/coordination of multi-disciplinary project teams
• Work delegation, with clear requirements as well as providing guidance and supervision.
• Manage input and delivery of sub-consultants within agreed budgets.
•  Author competent technical reports of acceptable technical and presentational quality
• Review work and ensure compliance with best practices and project requirements.
• Regular client contact and interaction
• Presentation of technical work
• Identification and following through on business leads.
• Prepare successful proposals, including managing of proposal preparation and winning new work to ensure team sustainability.
•  Travel within the African regions (East & West Africa) on project assignments

Personal and Team Development:

• Continuous development of personal capacity, skills, and proficiency as a professional in the engineering & construction industry
• Develop and maintain skills and understanding of technologies and markets.
• Train and mentor others in their respective functional fields and build a team.

Key Qualifications and Experience

• Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering / Higher Degree from an accredited university/college.
• Should have relevant Professional registration (or in the process of obtaining)
• Must have at least a Minimum of 5 years of professional experience.
• Should have a postgraduate degree in a related field (not essential but preferable)
• Must know QA and OHS requirements in SMEC.
• Must have strong project management skills, including working experience, and be highly proficient in MS project and commercial aspects of project management.
• Should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills (reporting, emails, letters, …) and a good command in English, additional Languages will be an added advantage.
• Must have the ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
• Must have the ability to make technical decisions that are outcome driven.
• Must have practical knowledge of hydraulics hydrological principles.
• Must have the ability to write programs (Python, C, …) or MS Excel macros.
• Proficient in the use of MS Office suite (including MS Project)
• Co-operative and flexible work style to work in a team environment.
• Valid Driver’s Licence (light motor vehicle)
• Experience working in several African countries will be an added advantage.
• Should have proven technical experience in relevant infrastructure projects (dams/hydropower/water industry) is required.
• Should have experience and good capability of using CAD design software (REVIT, Civil3D,)
• Must have Knowledge and experience of cloud-based software packages such as Autodesk Construction BIM platforms for integration of technical delivery teams in different geographic locations.
