We seek a highly qualified and experienced Government Teacher to join our team of educators.
As a Government Teacher, you will teach government and civics to students in grades 10-12.
You will develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cover a wide range of topics related to government and politics, to equip students with the knowledge and critical thinking skills necessary for active and informed citizenship.
You will also assess student progress, and provide individualized support to ensure student success.
Responsibilities
Teach government and civics to students in grades 9-12
Develop and implement engaging and age-appropriate lesson plans that cover the fundamental structures, processes, and issues in government and politics, using a variety of instructional methods and resources
Develop and implement lesson plans to meet the needs of diverse learners
Facilitate discussions, debates, and simulations to encourage students to analyze and interpret political events, policies, and trends.
Assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
Create a positive and inclusive learning environment
Communicate with parents and guardians to keep them informed of student progress
Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities
Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum and assessments
Stay current with changes in government and civics curriculum and standards
Grade assignments and exams, provide feedback to students, and maintain accurate records
Develop and implement assessments to measure student learning and understanding
Participate in school-wide events and activities.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Government, Public Policy, or a related field.
Teaching certification.
Minimum 2-3 years of experience teaching government, civics, or a related social science subject at the secondarylevel.
Demonstrated success in creating and implementing effective lesson plans and assessments.

Salary
N80,000 - N100,000 monthly
