Job Summary

• The Waiter/Waitress is responsible for providing excellent customer service to guests, taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring a pleasant dining experience.
• his role requires a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a team oriented space.

Key Responsibilities
Customer Service:

• Greet guests promptly and courteously upon arrival.
• Provide menus and assist guests with menu selections, offering recommendations and answering questions regarding food and beverages.
• Ensure that guests feel welcome and comfortable throughout their dining experience.
• Address any guest complaints or concerns promptly and professionally.

Order Taking and Serving:

• Accurately take food and beverage orders from guests, noting any special dietary requirements or preferences.
• Input orders into the POS system promptly and correctly.
• Serve food and beverages in a timely manner, ensuring that orders are accurate and meet the restaurant's quality standards.
• Clear and clean tables efficiently, ensuring that the dining area is tidy and presentable.

Beverage Service:

• Prepare and serve beverages, including alcoholic drinks, in accordance with the restaurant’s standards and legal requirements.
• Check identification to verify age for alcohol purchases as necessary.
• Maintain knowledge of the beverage menu, including wines, beers, and cocktails, to make recommendations to guests.

Team Collaboration:

• Work closely with kitchen staff and other restaurant personnel to ensure a seamless dining experience.
• Assist with opening and closing duties, including setting up tables, restocking supplies, and cleaning.
• Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate service and resolve any issues that may arise.

Sales and Upselling:

• Promote daily specials, seasonal menu items, and other restaurant promotions.
• Upsell additional items, such as appetizers, desserts, and beverages, to enhance the dining experience and increase sales.

Compliance and Safety:

• Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including food handling, sanitation, and hygiene standards.
• Follow all restaurant policies and procedures, including those related to cash handling and payment processing.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including the dining room, service stations, and storage areas.

Qualifications
Education:

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience:

• At least 1 year Previous experience as a waiter/waitress or in a customer service role preferred.
• Familiarity with POS systems and basic cash handling procedures.
• Familiarity with contemporary intercontinental dishes and drinks.

Skills and Abilities:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong customer service orientation with the ability to handle challenging situations calmly and professionally.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to providing high-quality service.
• Knowledge of food and beverage products, including wine and cocktail service, is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry trays, plates, and other items.
• Good physical stamina and manual dexterity.

Working Conditions:

• The role requires working in a busy restaurant environment, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• The position involves standing for long periods, walking, bending, and carrying items.
