Job Title: AVP of Global Expansion & Payment Partnership - West Africa
As the AVP of Global Expansion & Payment Partnership, you will oversee the business operations of the region and ensure all activities are concluded in the designated market in line with best practices and regulatory standards
you will also be responsible for the development, approval and execution of market entry strategies in new territories outside of Flutterwave’s current direct acquiring operating markets and the establishment of local companies as required.
Responsibilities
Develop Flutterwave’s strategic expansion roadmap within assigned region
Lead regional strategic alignment and consolidates regional inputs to provide an optimized global view of acquiring global expansion strategy.
Lead set up of new countries & licenses with appropriate competent regulatory authorities.
Ensure rigorous P&L pro forma development with Finance and Scheme Management teams
Lead and contribute to development of company objectives and principles to achieve goals in creative and effective ways.
Collaborate with Flutterwave PMO and schemes team to ensure market requirements from scheme, local regulator and the business are matched with internal product, onboarding, risk and fraud capabilities as part of business case development.
Identify new collaboration methods and bottlenecks to ensure efficient and timely delivery of acquiring capabilities.
Be accountable for local regulatory submissions or licenses working with key stakeholders in legal, finance , compliance, UW and AML.
Lead due diligence and incorporation of local company set up.
Collaborate with Global Operations to ensure settlement and currencies capabilities to support direct and third-party acquiring operations.
Manage and lead the Country Operations and Partnerships Managers who will develop country specific expansion strategies in setting up local entities and all required documentation
Identify and maintain key partnerships in the selected markets
Ensure effective management of relationships with key partners, customers, and accounts.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Business Finance, Economics, or a related field. MBA or relevant advanced degree is a plus.
Minimum of 12+ years in payments either at a Financial Institution or Fintech Gravitas and strong presentation skills
Strong C-level executive relationships with customers and industry thought leaders
Ability to understand and articulate technical concepts, and translate them into industry- or business-relevant terms
Experience in Market Entry and expansion Strategy
Experience with Visa/Mastercard/American Express/JCB-Japan Credit Bureau/CUP-China Union Pay/UPI-Unified Payments Interface acquiring implementations or 3rd Party Acquiring partnerships commercials and implementation desired.
Experience or strong understanding of Regulatory frameworks and application process for Payment licenses.
Expertise in payments, financial services and / or local payment method
Excellent project management skills (Project management certification is plus)
Fluent in English
