Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our Therapy Services team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing rehabilitation programs to help patients achieve optimal functional independence and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Assessment:
Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ physical, emotional, and social abilities.
Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings.
Therapeutic Interventions:
Implement a variety of therapeutic interventions to enhance patients’ abilities in daily living activities.
Utilize adaptive equipment and technologies to support patients’ functional independence.
Patient Education:
Educate patients and their families about therapeutic techniques and strategies to support recovery.
Provide guidance on home modifications and adaptive strategies.
Collaborative Care:
Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, and social workers.
Participate in case conferences and care planning meetings.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
Professional Development:
Stay updated with the latest advancements in occupational therapy.
Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from a recognized institution.
Current registration and licensure with the relevant regulatory body in Nigeria.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in occupational therapy practice, preferably in a healthcare setting.
Strong knowledge of occupational therapy principles, techniques, and equipment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team and handle stressful situations.
Compassionate and patient-focused approach to care.

Clinical Expertise: Proficient in occupational therapy procedures and patient care.
Attention to Detail: Ensures accuracy in patient assessments and documentation.
Communication Skills: Effectively educates and communicates with patients, families, and healthcare team members.

Working Conditions:
Work primarily in the rehabilitation/ therapy services department and other clinical areas.
May be required to work in shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
Must adhere to strict hygiene and safety protocols to prevent infection and ensure patient safety.
