Job Objective
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to manage general accounting operations and ensure the accuracy of financial transactions.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing financial reports, and supporting the finance team with various accounting tasks. This role requires a thorough understanding of accounting principles and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Principal Duties / Responsibilities
Financial Reporting:
Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review.
Ensure compliance with financial reporting standards and regulations.
General Ledger Management:
Maintain the general ledger by recording all financial transactions accurately.
Perform month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciling accounts and preparing journal entries.
Review and reconcile bank statements and inter-company accounts.
Accounts Payable and Receivable:
Manage accounts payable by processing invoices, verifying expense reports, and ensuring timely payments to vendors.
Oversee accounts receivable by generating invoices, monitoring outstanding balances, and following up on overdue accounts.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and financial forecasts.
Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis.
Support the finance team in identifying cost-saving opportunities and financial efficiencies.
Tax Compliance:
Ensure compliance with tax regulations and prepare tax returns.
Liaise with external tax advisors and regulatory authorities as needed.
Stay updated on changes in tax laws and implement necessary adjustments.
Audit and Internal Controls:
Support internal and external audit processes by providing required documentation and information.
Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy.
Identify areas for process improvement and recommend solutions.
Financial Analysis:
Conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
Provide insights on financial performance, including profitability, liquidity, and cost management.
Collaborate with other departments to develop financial strategies and plans.
Compliance and Regulatory Reporting:
Ensure compliance with industry-specific regulations and standards.
Prepare and submit regulatory reports as required by healthtech and pharmaceutical authorities.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes and their impact on financial operations.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is preferred.
Proven experience as an Accountant, preferably in the healthtech or pharmaceutical sector.
Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
Familiarity with financial accounting statements and reporting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP).
Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
High level of integrity and ethical standards.
