Job Title: Offshore EHSS Advisor
Location: Victoria Island, Lagos

Job Summary
The Offshore EHSS Advisor is responsible for representing the Company’s interests and ensuring that the industry best practice on facilities offshore is implemented.
Monitoring the safe implementation of work practices offshore in Nigeria.
Responsibilities
Duties include but is not limited to:
Ensure Contractor Management and personnel conformance to Contractor EHSS Management System, Site Specific Plans and general EHSS standards in line with EHSS MS guidelines
Actively manage and monitor the implementation of EHSS management systems in the field.
Mentor field crew on safe work practices and good EHS culture
Ensure Local authorities in area of operations
Working closely with contractors, sub-contractors, and operators to ensure EHS compliance at various work site.
Assisting the operations compliance team in determining operations strategy and recording EHSS risk and conducting joint risk assessments with contractors for formulation of corrective actions.
Assist in the development and plans for EHSS campaigns with specific focus on trends and EHSS performance targets
Constantly evaluate existing field installation contractor’s safety performance as part of contract.
Develop safety improvement plans to bring contractors up to company’s expectations.
Undertake accident and incident investigation services with a focus on establishing root cause and applying preventive measures.
Analyze trends and hazard/incident reports effectively with the application of practical recommendations, and remedial actions
Advises field installation teams to complete audits, assists where necessary towards compliance with implementing and improving EHSS.
Requirements
A tertiary qualification in an EHSS discipline is desirable. BSc or HND in a Science or Engineering degree is preferable.
Minimum of 6 years relevant experience in oil & gas sector with strong Exploration, Production practical experience on FPSO operations.
Good knowledge of EHS Monitoring and supervision including Risk Management, regulatory requirements to Site monitoring, control, and loss prevention.
Good knowledge of hazard identification reporting such as STOP, unsafe act and conditions (UAC), or similar, and shall be able train personnel on these systems.
Good knowledge of exploration project disciplines and hands on experience in preparation.
In depth project experience on marine offshore oil and gas facilities operation.
Ability to enforce EHSS standards.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work as part of a team
In depth experience of building and leading a team. Strong management and leadership skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must have experience working with various computer systems, Microsoft office, excel, PowerPoint and Visio
Working knowledge of local and international laws, regulations, codes, standards, and best industry practices for EHSS (e.g., ISO, OGP, IADC, UKOOA, API, ASME, NFPA).
