Job Title: Deputy Chief Financial Officer (DCFO)
Location: Lagos

Direct supervision: Directly responsible for supervision of the Account & Tax Management Unit and MIS & Reporting Unit
Job Summary
Working under the CFO, with direct responsibility for Account & Financial Reporting, Tax Management, MIS & Reporting and other functions that may be assigned from time to time.
S/he is responsible for the overall management of the Account and financial reporting function, its internal controls and strategic planning.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Review and analyze monthly financial performance of the Bank with respect to profits, trends, costs, and compliance with budgets and provide insight and recommendations for both short-term and long-term growth plans of the Bank.
Liaise with regulatory/supervisory bodies on behalf of the bank as well as multilateral agencies.
Liaise with institutional investors – local and international, rating agencies and analysts.
Develop and implement the financial policies, systems, and procedures of the bank.
Prepare and present the quarterly financial performance report of the Bank with detailed analysis and peer review to the Board Audit and Finance Committee, Board of Directors, and the Group.
Oversee preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to the Management, Board, and the Group.
Oversee preparation of monthly, quarterly forecast (F3+9, F6+6, F9+3), and annual budgets.
Collaborate with other departments and teams to stay in line with budgeting, and drive business outcomes and strategy.
Review and innovate financial models for cost management and revenue generation.
Review all month-end closing activities including general ledger accounts, balance sheet accounts, and overhead costs.
Provision of accurate and timely reports to the Lenders and ensure all financial covenants are complied with.
Provide strategic financial and business insights to the CFO and Management Board.
Qualifications
The ideal person must possess a minimum qualification of a good First Degree and a postgraduate qualification (MBA, MSc).
He/She must possess a relevant professional certification of ACA, ACCA.
He/She must possess a minimum of ten (10) years of post-qualification experience spanning Financial Account & Reporting, Finance, Budgeting, Cost Control, Bank Reconciliation, Tax Planning and Management roles; five (5) of these must have been in senior management positions.
Must have experience in managing Account department functioning either as Head of Account, Financial Controller, Chief Financial Officer of a medium to large-sized finance Unit of Microfinance Bank or a Commercial Bank.
Must have experience in coordinating external audit activities with one of the top 4 audit firms (PwC, KPMG, Deloitte, EY).
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to promptly identify and address project risks and issues.
Technical Competence:
He/She must be trained and proficient in the use of all basic and several advanced Microsoft Office applications, Banking and Accounting software including:
Microsoft Advance Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access.
Globus Temenos T24 Banking Application
Sage Pastel and Sage X3 Accounting Package
Financial analysis and modeling tools
Indept knowledge of IFRS and FRCN Rules.
