We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Business Category Manager - Solar Systems

Location: Lekki Phase 1, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Reports to: General Manager

Job Summary

  • We're seeking an experienced Business Category Manager - Solar Systems to lead our solar energy business, driving growth, profitability, and sustainability. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in solar energy, business development, and team management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Business Strategy: Develop and execute business plans to achieve growth, revenue, and profitability targets in the solar energy sector.
  • Team Management: Lead and manage a team of professionals, including sales, marketing, project development, and engineering staff.
  • Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and collaborations in the solar energy industry.
  • Project Development: Oversee the development and execution of solar energy projects including onboarding of solar vendors, installers and 3pls, sales and after-sales follow-up with customers.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain relationships with customers, investors, regulators, and industry partners in the solar energy sector.
  • Market Analysis: Stay up-to-date on market trends, policy changes, and technological advancements in the solar energy industry.
  • Financial Management: Manage budgets, forecast revenues, and ensure profitable operations in the solar energy business unit.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies in the solar energy sector.
  • Online Solar retail: Grow and lead an e-commerce platform for both solar vendors, installers and logistics partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in solar energy, category management & business development.
  • Strong knowledge of solar energy technologies, markets, and policies
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and strategic thinking skills
  • Proven track record in business growth, project development, and team management in the solar energy industry
  • Certification in solar energy or business management (preferred)
  • Relationships with solar manufacturers and vendors.
  • Demonstrated track record of broad functional abilities with solid understanding of offline and online marketing within the solar industry category and more broadly renewable energy.
  • Familiarity with the local and International solar energy markets and regulations.

Nice to Have:

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Sustainability, or related field
  • Experience with energy storage, grid integration, or smart grids in the solar energy sector
  • Experience with vendor lead generation & conversion.
